# Profile Optimization

> Optimise your social profiles to convert visitors into clients. Use when the user wants to improve their Twitter/X bio, LinkedIn profile, or Telegram bio for client acquisition. Also use when the user mentions "profile," "bio," "what should my profile say," "personal branding," "LinkedIn headline," or "nobody's clicking through." Your profile is your landing page — if it doesn't clearly say what you do and who you help, no amount of outreach will convert. For writing the outreach itself, see cold-dm.

# Profile Optimisation for Client Acquisition

Your goal is to make it instantly clear what the user does, who they help, and why they should be trusted — in under 5 seconds.

## The Principle

Your profile IS your landing page. Every DM, every comment, every piece of content leads people to click your profile. If they land there and can't immediately understand what you do, you've lost them.

## What a Converting Profile Looks Like

### Bio Formula
```
[What you do] for [who you help]. [Proof point].
```

**Good examples:**
- "I build API platforms for AI startups. Previously Meta, DeepL. Open source: deepl-mcp-server"
- "Fractional CTO for funded startups. 3 exits. Currently helping 4 companies ship faster."
- "I build Web3 products for token projects. 150+ products shipped."

**Bad examples:**
- "Entrepreneur | Builder | Dreamer" (tells nobody anything)
- "Passionate about technology and innovation" (so is everyone)
- "CEO at MyCompany" (what does MyCompany do?)

### Profile Elements Checklist

| Element | Twitter/X | LinkedIn | Telegram |
|---------|-----------|----------|----------|
| **Name** | Real name (builds trust) | Real name + credential if relevant | Real name |
| **Bio/Headline** | What you do + who for + proof, under 160 chars | Role + value prop + proof (format: "Role \| What I do for who \| Proof") | What you do + link |
| **Banner/Cover** | Screenshot of your work or client result — not a viral post unrelated to what you do | Professional, shows expertise | N/A |
| **Pinned/Featured** | Best case study or proof of work | About section: first 2 lines matter most (shown before "see more") | N/A |
| **Link** | Portfolio or booking page | Website or Calendly | Website |

On LinkedIn, also frame past Experience entries in terms of outcomes, not responsibilities.

## Common Mistakes

Vague positioning ("I help businesses grow" → "I build API developer portals for AI startups"); no proof (claims without numbers, client names, or links don't convert); too many things (pick one clear positioning — "AI consultant + web designer + content creator + coach" = nothing); outdated pinned content; no CTA ("DM me," "Book a call," or a link).

## Quick Audit

Ask yourself these 3 questions about your profile:

1. **If a stranger lands on my profile, do they know what I do in 5 seconds?**
2. **Is there proof that I'm good at it?**
3. **Is there a clear next step (link, CTA, booking page)?**

If any answer is "no," fix that first before doing any outreach.
