# Example Skill for Skill-MCP

Template for new skills. Instructions live here; optional reference files
(templates, sample configs, Python refs) sit alongside this document.

All skill files are **reference only** — this server does not execute them.

## Notice: `.py` vs `.py.md`

| File | Meaning |
|------|---------|
| **`*.py`** | Exact script example — complete sample; prefer copy/adapt as one file |
| **`*.py.md`** | Markdown with one or more code snippets **and** explanations/guidance |

## How agents should load this skill

1. MCP tool `discover_skill` (optional keyword filter).
2. MCP tool `get_manifest` with `skill_id="example-skill"` → `skill_md_uri` and `files[].uri`.
3. MCP **resources/read** on those `skill://…` URIs (not a get_file tool), e.g.
   - `skill://example-skill/SKILL.md`
   - `skill://example-skill/templates%2Fnote.md`
   - `skill://example-skill/templates%2Fsnippet.py`
   - `skill://example-skill/templates%2Fsnippet.py.md`
