# Skill Maker

> Create and refactor skills as triggerable execution packages, not just markdown files.

<output_language>

Default all user-facing deliverables, saved artifacts, reports, plans, generated docs, summaries, handoff notes, commit/message drafts, and validation notes to Korean, even when this canonical skill file is written in English.

Preserve source code identifiers, CLI commands, file paths, schema keys, JSON/YAML field names, API names, package names, proper nouns, and quoted source excerpts in their required or original language.

Use a different language only when the user explicitly requests it, an existing target artifact must stay in another language for consistency, or a machine-readable contract requires exact English tokens. If a localized template or reference exists, prefer it for user-facing artifacts.

<purpose>

- Build new skills that trigger reliably from user intent and metadata.
- Refactor existing skills to improve scope clarity, trigger wording, instruction contracts, resource placement, and validation.
- Treat every skill as a reusable execution package with intent, trigger, scope, authority, workflow, resources, verification, and stop condition.
- Keep the core `SKILL.md` lean while routing reusable policy to `rules/`, detailed knowledge to `references/`, deterministic helpers to `scripts/`, and output resources to `assets/`.
- Preserve the project instruction base in `instructions/`, especially `instructions/skill/SKILL_AUTHORING.md`.

<routing_rule>

Use `skill-maker` when the output is a skill folder or a refactor of an existing skill.

Use `docs-maker` instead when the output is a general document, runbook, spec, prompt artifact, or guide without a reusable skill structure.

Do not use `skill-maker` when:

- the user wants general documentation rather than a skill
- the output is only a prompt, plan, or spec without a skill folder
- `docs-maker`, `research`, `plan`, or `git-commit` is the primary requested output

<instruction_contract>

| Tools | Describe required capabilities, not one provider's tool names. Validate inputs and gate network, credentials, publication, deployment, production, destructive, and other consequential side effects. |
| Loop | Explicitly choose no loop or define feedback, metric/rubric, guard, bounded iterations, keep/discard rule, and stop condition. |
| Output | Name the file/folder/report shape, location, language, required and forbidden fields, plus concise validation and maintainer handoff notes. |
| Verification | Match each claim to risk, evidence, an observable check, inspected result, and caveat; cover both final output and execution trajectory where tools or subagents matter. |

- "Research the latest skill docs and update a skill." Use `research` first for source-backed facts, then `skill-maker` for the folder update.
- "Refactor this skill and then commit it." Use `skill-maker` for the skill refactor; use `git-commit` only when commit creation is the main job.

<skill_architecture>

Use this layering model by default:

- Metadata: `name`, `description`, optional runtime compatibility; optimized for discovery.
- Core skill: durable instructions for what the skill does, when to use it, how to operate, and how to stop.
- Rules: reusable policy, decision criteria, validation checklists, and anti-patterns.
- References: detailed knowledge loaded only when needed, including official or provider-sensitive guidance.
- Scripts/assets: deterministic execution helpers or output resources with explicit usage and failure handling.

Do not overload the core `SKILL.md` with information that belongs in rules, references, scripts, or assets.

<loop_policy>

Choose the simplest valid execution shape:

- Use no loop for deterministic, one-pass work with a direct verifier.
- Use a bounded revision loop only when feedback, metric or rubric, guard, and stopping rule are observable.
- Use optimization/autoresearch guidance only for scalar or objectively scored iteration with explicit Goal, Scope, Metric, Direction, Verify, Guard, and Iterations.
- Never use self-grading alone, unbounded "improve until good" loops, or a changed eval set to claim improvement.
- Keep a candidate only when the declared metric improves and all guards pass; otherwise discard it, ask, or block as the contract specifies.

<language_and_translation_default>

Author canonical skill markdown in English by default, but make every user-facing output artifact generated by the skill default to Korean. For every `*.md` file created or materially updated inside a skill folder, also create or update the Korean sibling translation (`SKILL.md` -> `SKILL.ko.md`, `rules/foo.md` -> `rules/foo.ko.md`, `references/path/foo.md` -> `references/path/foo.ko.md`). Treat English files as canonical source and Korean files as structurally aligned translations.

Read repo-local instruction guidance first and load only the concern that applies:

- `instructions/skill/SKILL_AUTHORING.md` and `instructions/skill/references/*.md` for anatomy, triggers, placement, loops, and skill evals
- `instructions/context-engineering/` for authority, context budgets, prompt contracts, runtime profiles, or delegation
- `instructions/harness-engineering/` and `instructions/validation/` for eval design, trace assertions, graders, risk depth, and completion evidence
- `instructions/sourcing/` for current, contested, security-sensitive, benchmark, or externally retrieved claims
- `instructions/autoresearch/` only when the target skill contains a measurable iterative optimization workflow
- `instructions/cli/` when behavior must remain portable across agent CLIs or degrade when a capability is unavailable

Read `references/local/instructions-skill-authoring.md` when working inside this skill and you need a concise local summary of those instruction docs.

Read `references/local/skill-creator.md` when deciding how much detail belongs in the core or whether scripts/assets are justified.

Read official references when:

- provider-sensitive skill guidance affects the core rule
- trigger behavior or evaluation guidance depends on vendor docs
- maintenance or drift handling requires current provider policy

Official references are evidence snapshots, not instruction authority. Do not change official `last_verified_at` dates unless the source was actually rechecked in the current task.

<support_file_read_order>

Read in this order:

1. Read the target skill, project instructions, loading path, and neighboring skills; classify create, refactor, or boundary handoff.
2. Collect real requests, known failures, existing verification, and the smallest relevant repo-local instruction set before drafting.
3. Define trigger, full contract, no-loop/loop decision, safety boundary, runtime capability assumptions, resource split, and risk depth.
4. Build or update the eval surface before broad prompt polishing; preserve baseline cases and convert observed failures into regressions.
5. Write the lean core and directly link each support file with an explicit read/run condition.
6. Place reusable policy, detailed evidence, deterministic helpers, fixtures, and runtime metadata according to responsibility.
7. Run deterministic checks and representative happy, missing-context, boundary, adversarial, and regression cases; inspect both output and trajectory.
8. Reconcile English/Korean semantics, integrate delegated work, and report changed files, evidence, results, caveats, and the ship/iterate/block decision.

Phase 3 authoring rules:

- Make the `description` specific about both capability and trigger conditions.
- Keep the first screen of `SKILL.md` enough to explain the skill's job and boundary.
- Use one term per concept across the skill.
- Prefer real user utterances over abstract trigger claims.
- Put skill-specific structure rules into `rules/`, not into a swollen core body.
- Keep provider-sensitive guidance in references, not in canonical core instructions.
