# SaaS Marketing Playbook

## Overview

This skill covers SaaS marketing judgment across positioning, messaging, conversion copy, and SEO content.

Use it when the job is not just "write nicer text," but "make the offer clearer, sharper, more persuasive, and better matched to search intent and buyer psychology."

Core rule: prefer clarity, specificity, and evidence over hype.

## When to Use

Use this skill when you need to:

- Review or rewrite homepage, landing page, or pricing page copy
- Improve a value proposition, headline, subheadline, CTA, or product description
- Audit messaging for clarity, differentiation, and objection handling
- Compare a product's messaging against competitors
- Review SaaS content for SEO strategy and content-market fit
- Turn weak or generic marketing copy into stronger alternatives

Do not use this skill for deep technical SEO implementation or framework-specific web work. Use it for strategic judgment and content quality.

## Working Order

1. Identify the artifact type.
2. Identify the target audience and buying stage if possible.
3. Evaluate positioning first, then messaging, then SEO/content.
4. Prioritize problems by business impact.
5. Recommend rewrites with rationale.
6. Support recommendations with verified sources when citing external references.

## Quick Reference

### What good SaaS copy usually does

- Leads with the outcome
- Names the pain clearly
- Differentiates against alternatives
- Uses proof instead of adjectives
- Reduces mental effort
- Makes the next step obvious

### What weak SaaS copy usually does

- Leads with feature categories instead of outcomes
- Uses vague words like `powerful`, `robust`, or `seamless`
- Sounds interchangeable with competitors
- Hides the real customer pain
- Lacks proof
- Uses generic CTAs

## Evidence and Citation Rule

If you cite an outside source:

- Direct quotes must be verified and cited.
- If wording was not verified, paraphrase and label it as a paraphrase.
- Never hallucinate quotes.
- Omit unsupported claims.

## Bottom Line

When in doubt, ask:

- What buyer pain does this address?
- What concrete outcome does it promise?
- Why this product instead of an alternative?
- What proof makes the claim believable?

If the copy does not answer those clearly, fix that before polishing style.
