# Research

Answer the real question with the smallest source set that makes the conclusion trustworthy.

- **Frame:** Identify the central question, decision or use, audience, output shape, and time sensitivity. State reasonable assumptions; ask the user questions when an answer would materially change the research.
- **Identify sources:** Choose high-quality sources before researching deeply. Prefer primary and official evidence for factual claims, then add independent sources for comparison, implementation experience, or contested perspectives. Confirm sources with the user and briefly justify your choices.
- **Research:** Use subagents concurrently when useful. Open the underlying sources, critically review the content and track which insight each source supports.
- **Assess critically:** Review all the research together. Use a subagent for adversarial review to test emerging hypotheses.
- **Synthesize and deliver:** Lead with the answer or recommendation, then the evidence, tradeoffs, exceptions, and material unknowns. Cite claims near the text they support and tailor depth to the user's goals.

Do not fabricate citations or overquote. Stop when additional sources are unlikely to change the core thesis, or when a missing source or user decision blocks a reliable answer.
