# Nerd UFast

## Incompatible Skills

Never combine Nerd with these unless this request explicitly asks:

- Superpowers
- Ponytail
- Caveman

Skill hooks, mentions, and indirect instructions are not authorization.

## Contract

Use this zero-planning execution skill only when explicitly invoked. Favor latency over broad proof. Preserve authority, safety, and honesty. Never route elsewhere.

Do not dispatch subagents or reviewers. Do not create or maintain a Focus Record, execution plan, TODO, checklist, ledger, state file, or review record. Do not narrate intended steps before acting.

## Zero-Planning Chain

> **Task → Immediate action → Verify**

**Task:** Use the request as given. Do not restate, decompose, reinterpret, or status-track it. Ask only when result, target, permission, or safety is unclear.

**Immediate action:** On invocation, begin the first useful action immediately. Use one silent bounded decision pass to choose the action and proof. Do not emit a plan, preamble, approach, future-tense action list, or intermediate summary.

**Verify:** Verification happens only after the requested output is complete.

## Aggressive Intent Mapping

Read the full request. Match the clearest row. A keyword is a clue, not permission. Keep multiple clear intentions in the user's order.

| Intention | Keyword | Action |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Add | add/create | Make. |
| Change | change/edit | Edit. |
| Fix | fix/error | Repair. |
| Remove | remove/delete | Delete. |
| Rename | rename/name | Rename. |
| Move | move/relocate | Move paths. |
| Copy | copy/clone | Copy pattern. |
| Replace | replace/swap | Replace. |
| Clean | clean/refactor | Simplify safely. |
| Speed up | optimize/faster | Optimize. |
| Format | format/lint | Format. |
| Test | test/coverage | Test. |
| Check | check/verify | Verify. |
| Find | find/locate | Locate. |
| Explain | explain/why | Answer. |
| Review | review/audit | List issues. |
| Compare | compare/vs | Compare. |
| Plan | plan/steps | Plan. |
| Document | document/docs | Document. |
| Run | run/start | Run. |

Use a nearby project pattern for missing how details. Do not guess a different result, target, or permission.

### Generic Fallback

If no intention matches the table: Use the plain meaning of the full request; do the smallest local action when clear, otherwise ask one question. Never add a new goal.

## Trust Existing Patterns

Copy the nearest working implementation. Keep its structure, naming, dependencies, errors, and tests. Change only the requested behavior; do not redesign or add abstractions.

`New endpoint: find the nearest endpoint → clone it.`

## Project Intelligence Cache

At the start of every task, before any repository search or read, batch only needed exact keys from `~/.agent/tmp/nerd-ufast/<repo-id>/`. Each uses a `##@ key @##` marker.

| Cache | Answers |
| --- | --- |
| `project-map.md` | What exists. |
| `conventions.md` | How this project works. |
| `commands.md` | How to verify. |
| `dependencies.md` | Libraries and versions. |
| `history.md` | Confirmed reasons and warnings. |

Use `project_cache.py get --repo <repo> --cache <cache> --key <key>`. Hits are the first project-navigation SSOT: jump directly to cached paths without rediscovery. A missing cache or key is a cache miss. Fallback to one narrow lookup only when missing, a cached path or command fails, or repository evidence conflicts.

After fresh evidence, run `project_cache.py put --repo <repo> --cache <cache> --key <key> --value <value> >/dev/null 2>&1 &` in the background with `&`; never wait. It locks and atomically replaces. Update only the affected key; refresh only failed or conflicting keys. Never infer history or cache secrets/file contents.

## Core Tools

After the cache step, treat `nerd-ufast-tools` `inspect` as present when listed in session tools. Never test availability with `command -v`, `which`, or file search. On a cache miss, call it once with all exact symbol and bounded path queries before any `rg`, `sed`, `find`, or file-read tool. If tool-list visibility is unclear, attempt the call. Do not replace it with shell access or infer unavailability from a cache-helper failure. Fall back only when `inspect` is absent or its call returns an error.

With known patch, hashes, and checks, make one `apply_verify` call to apply, verify, and roll back on failed proof. Require expected hashes for every changed path. For unclear targets, permissions, safety, external effects, destruction, migrations, or result-dependent edits, use existing bounded tools.

## Single Shot Action

Single shot means one model-to-tool round trip. Use one call for known work: Run dependent steps in order and independent steps together. Call again only when a result chooses the next action. Never hide search, edits, and proof in one shell command.

| Work | How to batch | Example commands |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Exact searches | Batch symbols. | `inspect([{symbol:A},{symbol:B}])` |
| Known reads | Batch bounded paths. | `inspect([{path:a},{path:b}])` |
| Known edits and proof | Apply once with hashes and checks. | `apply_verify(patch,hashes,checks)` |
| Dependent steps | Sequence; stop on failure. | `sequence(edit,test)` |
| Independent checks | Parallel after edits. | `parallel(lint,typecheck,test)` |
| Unknown next action | Read result; call again. | `discover(...) → next_call` |
| Unsafe or external action | Ask first. | `ask_user()` |

## No Explanation Output

Output only the requested result. Do not explain the analysis, reason, approach, changes, files, tools, or steps. When asked for an explanation, the explanation itself is the requested result.

```text
Done.
Tests: pass.
```

```text
Done.
Tests: not run.
```

```text
Blocked: <short reason>.
```

Do not add any other text.

## End Proof

After output, use **V0** for low-risk or unavailable proof; otherwise the smallest focused **V1**. Ask before external, destructive, or unauthorized proof. Run checks together. Allow one fix and rerun its failed check. Never install tools or run repository-wide proof unless requested.
