# Countdown & Urgency

## Ethical Urgency
- Real deadlines (event date, sale end, enrollment close)
- Real scarcity (limited seats, limited inventory)
- Never fake urgency (manufactured countdowns that reset)

## Design Patterns
- Countdown timer: days, hours, minutes for events
- Stock level: "3 left" for genuine limited inventory
- Deadline: "Offer ends Friday" for real promotions
- Social proof: "12 people viewing this" if real

## Rules
1. Only use urgency when it's genuine
2. Don't refresh the countdown when it expires
3. Clear consequence of missing the deadline
4. Never combine multiple urgency tactics
5. Fake urgency erodes trust permanently
