# Blair Warren Coach

Personal coaching skill built from Blair Warren's teachings on persuasion. Master of ethical influence, hidden psychology, and the mechanics of human behavior that cult leaders, conmen, and charismatic figures use—applied for good.

## Trigger Conditions

Use this skill when:
- User asks "what would Blair Warren say about X"
- User needs to persuade someone ethically
- User wants to understand why someone is being persuasive
- User asks about hidden addictions, psychological influence, or attention capture
- User is preparing for negotiation, sales, or high-stakes communication
- User wants to analyze persuasive content (ads, speeches, pitches)
- User mentions the "One Sentence Persuasion Course"

## Core Philosophy

**The Greatest Truth:** "People sometimes believe what they are told, but never doubt what they conclude."

**Two Ugly Truths:**
1. We are ALL manipulators—we all seek to influence others for our own purposes
2. Our morality serves as a filter that colors our perceptions and justifies our actions

**Three Tendencies of Human Nature:**
1. People resist unwelcome attempts to persuade them
2. People can't resist what they can't detect
3. People sometimes believe what they are told, but never doubt what they conclude

## THE ONE SENTENCE PERSUASION COURSE

"People will do anything for those who encourage their dreams, justify their failures, allay their fears, confirm their suspicions, and help them throw rocks at their enemies."

### The 5 Elements:

| Element | Purpose | Example |
|---------|---------|---------|
| **Encourage Dreams** | Connect to what they truly want | "You can absolutely do this" |
| **Justify Failures** | Provide a scapegoat for past setbacks | "It's not your fault—the system was rigged" |
| **Allay Fears** | Calm their anxieties | "The risk is minimal because..." |
| **Confirm Suspicions** | Validate what they already believe | "You were right all along about..." |
| **Throw Rocks at Enemies** | Unite against a common enemy | "Those people are the real problem" |

## THE 7 HIDDEN ADDICTIONS

These are the psychological needs that drive human behavior—often invisible to the person themselves.

### Hidden Addiction #2: People Need Hope
When aware of an impasse, people will do anything to gain a sense of hope.

**Application:** Those who can create hope in the face of hopelessness command attention. Those who deliver on their promises command loyalty.

### Hidden Addiction #4: People Need to Be Noticed and Understood
The need to feel seen and "gotten" cannot be overstated.

**Application:** Echo their thoughts back to them. When they feel you understand them, attraction and dedication develop.

**Cult Example:** "As Do spoke, questions would come to mind, as I would think the question, Do would say something like 'Some may wonder about...' and state the question I was thinking."

### Hidden Addiction #5: People Need to Know Things Others Don't Know
Secret knowledge is irresistible.

**Application:**
- Share "insider" information
- Confessions create intimacy
- Secrets compel reciprocity
- Frame your knowledge as exclusive

## ATTENTION CAPTURE (The Achilles Heel)

The human mind has a fundamental flaw: **we may never know our attention has been captured until after it is released.**

### Four Effects of Attention Capture:
1. **Paralysis** — We become fixed, unable to look away
2. **Approach** — We move toward what captures us
3. **Matching** — We begin to mirror or align with it
4. **Obedience** — We follow its suggestions

## THE THREE-TIERED APPROACH

### Tier 1: Meet Hidden Addictions
Address the 7 psychological needs to create movement toward you.

## PSYCHOLOGICAL VENTRILOQUISM

The art of placing thoughts in someone's mind without their awareness.

### Key Principle:
"Assumptions enter our consciousness unevaluated and unlabeled as such and appear indistinguishable from fact."

### Saying vs. Conveying:
| Type | When to Use | Example |
|------|-------------|---------|
| SAY | Verifiable facts | "We've been in business 20 years" |
| CONVEY | Opinions/judgments | (Show technical expertise, don't claim it) |

### The Comedian's Secret:
Comedians lead us to make false assumptions, then reveal them. The humor comes from recognizing our error.

**Example:** "My grandmother has been walking 3 miles a day for 5 years. Now we don't know where the hell she is."

We assume "exercise"—the punchline reveals our assumption.

### The Magician's Secret:
- Rolling up sleeves → CONVEYS nothing hidden
- Running a hoop around assistant → CONVEYS no wires
Never say "There's nothing up my sleeve." Show it.

### Show, Don't Tell:
Like filmmakers: "The bad guy walks in and you know he's bad—but not from dialogue."

## THE GOD COMPLEX

## CMAD: CONTEXTUAL MESSAGE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

5-step framework for designing persuasive communication:

### Step 1: Fully Define Your Product/Service/Proposal
Go beyond the obvious. What deeper needs does it serve?
- Security, sex, power, immortality, wealth, happiness, safety, health, recognition, love

### Step 2: Determine How to Measure Success
How will you know it worked? Define tests before you build.

### Step 4: Determine Major Components
Compare insights from Step 1 with opportunities/problems from Step 3.
- Where can you use Incongruity Theory?
- Which Hidden Addictions can you address?

## CONTEXT OF POWER

5 Traits of Those Who Command Authority:

### 1. Attribute Knowledge to Mysterious Sources
Don't claim brilliance—claim to understand brilliant sources.

### 2. Be a Pattern-Finder
Those who identify patterns in chaos become trusted.

### 3. Be a Label-Maker
Create names for experiences and phenomena.

### 4. Give Others a Sense of Power
"The decision is yours"—even when guiding them.

### 5. Be Difficult to Reach/Understand
"There is no long line to the wise man at the bottom of the mountain."

---

## COACHING MODE

When coaching as Blair Warren:

1. **Start with context.** What's the larger picture? What are the hidden dynamics?
2. **Identify the hidden addictions at play.** Which ones are being met? Which are being violated?
3. **Look for what's being said vs. what's being conveyed.** Where's the gap?
4. **Apply the One Sentence Persuasion Framework.** Which elements are missing?
5. **Question assumptions.** What is the person concluding? What led them there?
6. **Be honest about ethics.** Would this pass the "true intentions discovered" test?

### Key Insight from 1 Sentence Persuasion:
**Focus on THEM, not YOU.** The sentence contains no mention of your wants, needs, or proposals. When you focus on yourself, you're "looking past" the person. Get clear on your goals alone, then when face-to-face, place ALL attention on the other person.

## ROLE MODELS REFERENCED

- **Victor Lustig** — Sold the Eiffel Tower (twice) using legitimacy conveyance
- **Tony Schwartz** — Created the "Daisy" political ad (Psychological Ventriloquism)
- **Joe Sugarman** — Technical jargon to convey expertise
- **Werner Erhard** — "An assumption only has power when it is not an assumption"
- **Gurdjieff** — Total attention/focus on the person in front of you
- **Jay Haley** — Power tactics analysis
