## Purpose

Validates study guide formatting and structure compliance with template requirements. Ensures consistent color schemes, proper formatting, and complete sections across all study guide types (Word, Excel, HTML).

## What I Check

### 1. Color Scheme Compliance

**Soft Pastel Colors (Required):**

**Table Header Colors:**
- Purple: `#D1C4E9` (RGB: 209, 196, 233)
- Green: `#C8E6C9` (RGB: 200, 230, 201)
- Blue: `#B3E5FC` (RGB: 179, 229, 252)
- Teal: `#B2DFDB` (RGB: 178, 223, 219)
- Orange: `#FFE0B2` (RGB: 255, 224, 178)
- Red: `#FFCDD2` (RGB: 255, 205, 210)
- Pink: `#F8BBD0` (RGB: 248, 187, 208)
- Light Purple: `#EDE7F6` (RGB: 237, 231, 246)

**Background Colors (Lighter):**
- Light Purple: `#F3E5F5`
- Light Green: `#E8F5E9`
- Light Blue: `#E1F5FE`
- Light Teal: `#E0F2F1`
- Light Orange: `#FFF3E0`
- Light Red: `#FFEBEE`

### 2. Structure Requirements

**Excel Drug Charts (3 tabs required):**
- Tab 1: Drug Details
- Tab 2: Key Comparisons
- Tab 3: Master Chart

**Word Study Guides (2 sections required):**
- Section 1: Learning Objectives (detailed answers)
- Section 2: Key Comparisons (side-by-side tables)

**HTML Study Guides (4 tabs required):**
- Tab 1: Learning Objectives / Drug Details
- Tab 2: Key Comparisons
- Tab 3: Master Chart
- Tab 4: High-Yield Summary

### 3. Formatting Standards

**Fonts:**
- Primary: Calibri (Word, Excel)
- Size: 12pt (standard text), 11pt (dense tables)
- Headers: Bold white text on colored background

**Tables:**
- Style: 'Table Grid' (Word, Excel)
- Headers: Bold + colored background
- Row labels: Bold + light colored background
- Data cells: Regular text on white background

**Color-Coded Boxes (All formats):**
- **HIGH-YIELD** - Yellow/Gold background
- **CLINICAL PEARLS** - Light blue background
- **CRITICAL/EMERGENCY** - Red/pink background

### 4. Required Elements

**All Study Guides Must Include:**
- All required tabs/sections present (varies by format)
- Comparison tables (when 2+ similar items)
- Memory tricks/mnemonics
- Clinical pearls (where applicable)

### 5. Comparison Item Inventory Protocol (MANDATORY)

**Purpose:** Prevents skipping items in comparison tables by requiring explicit inventory before creation.

#### Before Creating ANY Comparison Table:

**Step 1: Extract ALL Comparable Items**

Read source file and list EVERY item that should be compared:
- Diagnostic tools/tests mentioned for the topic
- Drugs in same class or treating same condition
- Conditions with similar presentations
- Treatments for same condition
- Any items the learning objective asks to compare

**Step 2: Handle Different LO Styles**

| LO Style | Example | Action |
|----------|---------|--------|
| **General category** | "Compare the diagnostic tools for PE" | Find ALL diagnostic tools mentioned in source for this topic |
| **Specific items listed** | "Compare D-dimer, CT angiography, and V/Q scan" | Include exactly those specific items |
| **Class/group reference** | "Describe the mechanism of NRTIs" | Find ALL individual drug names in NRTI class from source |

**Key Principle:** When an LO says "drug class", "conditions", "diagnostic tools", etc. without listing specifics, Claude must extract ALL individual items from the source that belong to that category.

**Step 3: Create Item Checklist**

Before creating table, explicitly state:

**Step 4: Post-Table Verification**

After creating each comparison table, verify:
- [ ] All [N] items from inventory appear in table
- [ ] No items from inventory were skipped
- [ ] Items match source names exactly
- [ ] Each item has all relevant properties filled in

#### Common Omission Patterns to Avoid

| What Gets Skipped | Why It Happens | Prevention |
|-------------------|----------------|------------|
| Less common diagnostic tests | Only main tests seem "important" | Count ALL tests mentioned in source |
| Drugs that are "similar" | Seem redundant | Each drug listed separately in source gets own column |
| Conditions with fewer details | Less info available | Include even if some cells sparse |
| Items mentioned only once | Easy to miss | Systematic source scan catches all |
| Secondary/alternative treatments | Focus on first-line only | LO may ask for ALL treatments |

#### Example: Diagnostic Tools Inventory

**Source mentions 5 diagnostic tests for pulmonary embolism:**
1. Chest X-ray
2. CT angiography
3. V/Q scan
4. D-dimer
5. ECG

**WRONG (common mistake):**
- Creates table with only CT angiography, D-dimer, ECG
- Skips Chest X-ray and V/Q scan
- No mechanism catches the omission

**CORRECT (with inventory):**

## Common Template Violations

### ❌ Color Scheme Issues
- Using bright/saturated colors instead of soft pastels
- Inconsistent color usage across tabs
- Missing colored headers in tables
- Wrong hex codes

### ❌ Structure Problems
- Missing tabs/sections
- Tabs in wrong order
- Missing required elements

### ❌ Formatting Errors
- Wrong font (not Calibri)
- Inconsistent font sizes
- Missing bold headers
- Improper table styling

### ❌ Completeness Issues
- No comparison tables (when 2+ similar items exist)
- Missing mnemonics section
- Incomplete coverage of source material
