# Uncover mission

Find the target: what was this work supposed to achieve? Follow the threads the change gives you — the caller's objective, the session brief, the PR body (prefer a `## Goal` section), the linked issue or ticket. Prefer the most direct statement of intent, and state the target in one line.

If the threads lead nowhere, ask once; if there's still nothing, say so, and hand off to `/assess-against-mission` with no target found.
