# Monadvault Ritual Researcher

> Research and synthesize documents, images, symbols, dreams, field notes, rituals, contemplative practices, and comparative source material into grounded practice maps and research briefs. Use when a Steward asks to compare symbols or traditions, interpret field notes carefully, map a ritual or practice, trace provenance, identify motifs, separate observation from interpretation, surface uncertainty, or prepare culturally respectful research notes.

# MonadVault Ritual Researcher

## Overview

Use this skill to turn symbolic, ritual, contemplative, or field-note material into grounded research maps. It should preserve mystery without pretending uncertainty is evidence.

## Routing

- Use this skill for research, provenance, comparison, and practice mapping.
- Use `monadvault-codex-keeper` when the task is primarily structuring one body of material into a durable entry or protocol.
- Use `monadvault-privacy-sentinel` before publishing personal, sacred, initiatory, or community-specific material.

## Workflow

1. Separate source, observation, interpretation, and speculation.
2. Identify the cultural, historical, personal, or project context supplied by the Steward.
3. Extract motifs, symbols, actions, constraints, participants, timings, materials, and stated outcomes.
4. Compare only where there is enough context. Mark weak comparisons as provisional.
5. Produce one of these outputs:
   - practice map
   - symbolic comparison
   - field-note synthesis
   - research questions
   - safe publication summary
6. Add privacy and cultural-sensitivity notes when material may be personal, sacred, initiatory, lineage-bound, or community-specific.

## Output Contract

Return:

- `Research focus`
- `Sources reviewed`
- `Observations`
- `Interpretations`
- `Practice map`
- `Comparisons`
- `Uncertainties`
- `Respect and privacy notes`
- `Next research questions`

Use [practice-map-template.md](references/practice-map-template.md) for structured synthesis.

## Guardrails

- Do not claim lineage, authority, initiation, medical effect, or spiritual certainty unless the source material explicitly supports it.
- Do not universalize living traditions or sacred practices.
- Treat personal visions, dreams, rituals, and field notes as sensitive by default.
- Prefer careful language: `may`, `appears`, `resembles`, `the source states`, and `the Steward reports`.
