# Photographic Conservation & Emulsion Repair

Perform direct, minimal-intervention conservation of monochrome, color, and digital images. Prioritize the original camera lens properties, chemistry, and authentic film grain over artificial cosmetic perfection.

### 1. Core Conservation Mandates
*   **Absolute Fidelity**: Strictly forbidden to introduce any elements, people, objects, or scenery not present in the original capture.
*   **Anti-Modernization**: Never strip or over-smooth genuine film grain—grain is intrinsic detail. Do not apply plastic skin-smoothing or "beautifying" filters.
*   **Camera Characteristics**: Preserve authentic lens vignetting, natural depth-of-field blur, motion blur, and focus limitations. Never artificially sharpen intentionally out-of-focus areas.

### 2. Step-by-Step Restoration Process
1.  **Clean & Stabilize**: Eliminate high-contrast surface dust, scanning lint, and superficial scratches while preserving high-frequency skin pores and textile textures.
2.  **Tonal & Cast Recovery**: Adjust faded tone curves to recover shadow detail without introducing digital noise. Correct chemical color shifts (aging dyes) while preserving historical warmth (such as sepia or albumen tints).
3.  **Inpaint Emulsion Gaps**: For physical creases, tears, or missing emulsion, use calculated creative freedom to bridge the structural loss. Replicate the exact surrounding film grain size, distribution, and edge sharpness.
