# Reference Video Analysis

Use this skill when a video must be understood before planning, regenerating, editing, or judging a new output.

## What To Extract

Capture the video as timed beats:

- Duration, format, aspect ratio, and audio presence.
- Hook moment and first visual promise.
- Scene changes, camera changes, overlays, captions, and transitions.
- Repeated motifs or visual language.
- What the viewer is supposed to understand at each beat.
- What must be preserved as inspiration versus what should be made original.

## Frame Review

When possible, inspect frames at regular intervals and around major transitions. For a 30 second social video, use roughly:

- 0s, 1s, 2s for hook clarity.
- Every 2-3 seconds for story progression.
- Extra frames around any user-reported timestamp.
- A contact sheet for proof.

## Output

Produce a concise analysis with:

- Timestamped beat list.
- Visual style notes.
- Story logic.
- Audio and pacing notes.
- Risks for generation or editing.

Do not invent what the source contains. If the video cannot be inspected, say so and plan from the available description.
