# Huawei Cloud GaussDB

## Critical Warnings

| Trap                  | Why                                                          |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Shard key permanent   | Once set, shard key cannot be changed                        |
| Minimum nodes         | Distributed GaussDB requires at least 3 nodes for production |
| Engine version pinned | MySQL-compatible vs openGauss are separate products          |
