# Product Vision

## Overview

A product vision describes the future state you are trying to create for customers and the market. It is aspirational but grounded enough to guide choices.

## When to Use

- Launching or repositioning a product
- Aligning a growing organization on direction
- Creating a north star for strategy and roadmap work
- Communicating purpose to recruits, partners, or investors

## Core Elements

- Who it is for
- The change or progress it enables
- Why that change matters
- What success looks like in the long run
- How it relates to company purpose

## Principles

- Make it memorable and repeatable
- Focus on customer outcomes, not technology
- Keep it stable enough to orient, flexible enough to allow learning
- Pair vision with strategy — vision without strategy is a dream; strategy without vision is drift
