# Proposal Writing

## Overview

A strong proposal makes it easy for the decision-maker to say yes. It focuses on their problem and the value of the solution, not on how clever the proposer is.

## When to Use

- Client or commercial proposals
- Internal project or funding proposals
- RFP / RFI responses
- Partnership or collaboration proposals

## Recommended Structure

1. Executive summary / opportunity overview
2. Understanding of the problem / need
3. Proposed solution and approach
4. Scope, deliverables, and timeline
5. Team / capabilities (only as relevant)
6. Investment / pricing
7. Why us / differentiation
8. Next steps and call to action
9. Appendix (detailed plans, case studies, terms)

## Principles

- Lead with the client’s problem and desired outcome
- Make the value and ROI as concrete as possible
- Be explicit about scope boundaries and assumptions
- Keep the main body scannable; put detail in appendices
- End with a clear, low-friction next step

## Verification

- [ ] A busy reader can understand the offer and the ask in under 2 minutes
- [ ] Problem → solution → value logic is clear
- [ ] Scope and commercial terms are unambiguous
- [ ] Next step is obvious
