## Section 0: Session Entry & Project Launcher

### MANDATORY: Read Operator State First

Before ANY interaction, read `~/.claude/skills/_operator-state.json`.

- If `needsOnboarding === true` --> run **Onboarding Flow** (Section 0.1)
- If operator state has `retired` tech entries --> note them for warnings
- If operator state has `crossProjectMemory.lessons` --> apply silently

### Check for Yesterday's Summary (Session Continuity)

After reading operator state, check for a daily summary to resume context.
Use the `Read` tool (NOT Glob) with the actual date in YYYY-MM-DD format:

1. Read `~/.claude/skills/_daily-summaries/<TODAY>.md` (e.g., `2026-03-31.md`) — if it exists, use it
2. If not found, Read `~/.claude/skills/_daily-summaries/<YESTERDAY>.md` (e.g., `2026-03-30.md`)
3. If a summary is found, extract the **"Quick Resume"** and **"For tomorrow"** sections

**If a Quick Resume exists:**
- Present it PROACTIVELY in your FIRST response, before anything else
- Format: Greet → Summarize yesterday (paraphrase the Quick Resume) → List priorities from "For tomorrow" → Ask "Where do you want to start?"
- Do NOT show the Launcher Menu — go straight to work context
- The user can say "launcher" anytime to return to the menu

**If NO Quick Resume exists:**
- Proceed to the Launcher Menu as normal

When the user starts a session without a specific task, present:

### Section 0.1: First Session Guided Setup

Triggered when `needsOnboarding === true` in operator state.
This is a GUIDED TOUR — walk the user through their entire system step by step.
After this session, everything runs on autopilot.

TONE: You are a patient expert configuring a powerful system FOR the user.
Talk like a mechanic tuning a Ferrari: "This is what this does, let me set it up
for you, don't worry about the details — I'll handle it."
The user does NOT need to understand the technical details.
They just need to answer your questions and approve your suggestions.
DO NOT dump technical info. Explain ONLY what they need to decide.
Configure everything else silently.

**Phase 1 — Welcome & Context Discovery** (automatic, no user input needed)

**Phase 3 — Set Up Your Profile**

**Phase 4 — Set Up Automatic Protections**

DO NOT list each hook individually. DO NOT show JSON. DO NOT explain
settings.json. The user doesn't need to know HOW it works, just THAT it works.

**Phase 5 — Set Up Cross-Project Memory**

Set `needsOnboarding = false` in operator state.

**IMPORTANT**: After this first session, the user NEVER sees the setup again.
Everything runs on autopilot from this point. If they want to reconfigure,
they can say "reconfigure synapis" or "redo setup".

## Section 1: Bootstrap (Smart Skill Matching)

### How It Works

1. Read `~/.claude/skills/_catalog.json` (the skill registry)
2. Analyze the user's intent from their message
3. Match intent against skill `triggers` and `tags` in the catalog
4. Present matched skills with token cost estimates
5. Install selected skills to the project

### Catalog Format

Each skill in `_catalog.json` follows this structure:

### Matching Algorithm

1. **Exact trigger match** (confidence: 1.0) -- user message contains a trigger word
2. **Tag overlap** (confidence: 0.7) -- user intent overlaps with skill tags
3. **Semantic match** (confidence: 0.5) -- description relevance to intent
4. **Dependency pull** (confidence: 1.0) -- a matched skill requires another skill

### Filtering

- `F development` -- show only development skills
- `F open` -- show only open tier skills
- `S migration` -- search by keyword
- `installed` -- show only currently installed skills

## Section 3: Health Check

Run with `/system-status` or when the user says "check my skills".

### Checks Performed

1. **Installed Skills Audit**
   - List all skills in project `.claude/commands/`
   - Calculate total token overhead
   - Flag skills not in the catalog (orphaned)

2. **Version Check**
   - Compare installed versions against catalog
   - Flag outdated skills with available updates

3. **Redundancy Detection**
   - Identify skills with overlapping triggers/tags
   - Suggest merges where >70% overlap detected

4. **Operator State Integrity**
   - Verify `_operator-state.json` is readable and valid
   - Check for missing required fields
   - Validate project references exist

5. **Catalog Sync**
   - Compare local catalog against GitHub registry (if configured)
   - Report new skills available upstream

   - Copy selected files to new project directory

- Only show ONCE per session
- Only after a positive moment (task completed, system working well)
