# Editorial Planning

## Boundary

Own audience-led topic selection and production scheduling. Final prose, search-led keyword strategy, cluster coverage planning, and unsupported predictions of virality are out of scope.

## Required Inputs

- Audience, business goal, offer, channel set, and planning horizon
- Content pillars and brand constraints
- Available expertise, source material, proof, and production capacity
- Recent performance and audience-question signals

## Workflow

1. Translate the business goal into an audience behavior the content can plausibly influence.
2. Gather signals from customer questions, sales calls, search, communities, research, and prior performance.
3. Generate ideas across problems, decisions, objections, examples, and points of view.
4. Score ideas on audience value, evidence strength, strategic relevance, distinctiveness, effort, and shelf life.
5. Kill weak, duplicative, unsupported, or capacity-mismatched ideas.
6. Balance the selected portfolio across funnel stage, format, pillar, and evidence type.
7. Schedule only what capacity can produce and define a review trigger.

## Output

1. **Signal log**
2. **Ranked idea backlog with rationale**
3. **Killed-idea list**
4. **Production calendar with owner, source needs, and success measure**

## Quality Gate

- Every scheduled idea has a clear audience question.
- Scores explain judgment instead of hiding it.
- No engagement number is fabricated.
- The plan fits actual production capacity.
