## When to use

Reach for this when you want recruiters to find you and, once they land, to be convinced. Use to rebuild a stale profile, tune it toward a target role, or align it with a resume you just wrote in car-resume.

**Not for:** the employer side. Sourcing candidates, building a recruiting funnel, or employer branding is hr-recruiting-pipeline. This skill optimizes *your* profile so *you* get found and shortlisted.

## Method

1. **Define the target** — the role and level you want next; collect the keywords recruiters search (titles, skills, tools). Decision point: optimize for where you're going, not only where you've been.
2. **Write the headline** — not just a job title: `Role + specialty + value/outcome`. This is the highest-weighted searchable field and shows in every feed.
3. **Write the About** — first person, hook in line one, 3-4 short paragraphs: what you do, proof (metrics), specialties, and a soft call to action. Front-load keywords naturally.
4. **Rewrite Experience** — mirror your resume's impact bullets (quantified), but slightly more narrative and human than the resume.
5. **Load keywords everywhere** — headline, about, experience, and the Skills section (pin the top 3 that match your target). Recruiter search weights these fields.
6. **Signal credibility** — professional photo, banner, custom URL, recommendations, and light activity (comment/post in your domain). Decision point: turn on "Open to Work" (recruiters-only mode) if you don't want your employer to see it.

## Example

Weak headline: "Software Engineer at Acme." Strong: "Senior Backend Engineer | Payments & high-scale APIs | Cut latency 60% across 2M+ daily transactions." It carries three searchable terms (backend, payments, APIs) and a proof metric — it ranks in search and reads as credible in the feed.

## Pitfalls

- Headline that is only your job title — wastes the most-searched, most-visible field.
- About section written in stiff third person, or a wall of text with no hook or metrics.
- Buzzword soup ("results-driven synergistic self-starter") with zero evidence.
- Empty Skills section or unpinned skills, so you never surface in recruiter searches for your specialty.

## Output format

```
Target role + keywords: [searchable terms]
Headline: Role + specialty + outcome (<=220 chars)
About: hook line | what you do | proof/metrics | specialties | CTA
Experience (per role): 3-5 narrative impact bullets with metrics
Skills: top 3 pinned + full list (keyword-matched)
Credibility checklist: photo | banner | custom URL | recommendations | Open-to-Work mode
```
