## When to use

Use this when you need a first draft of one specific asset for one specific channel and want it formatted correctly, on-message, and search-aware from the start.

**Not for:** auditing existing copy against a brand guide (use mkt-brand-review), planning a month of posts (use mkt-content-calendar), or designing multi-step nurture flows (use mkt-email-sequence).

## Method

1. Confirm the brief: channel, audience, primary goal, single key message, CTA, tone, and length. Decision point: fill any gap with a clearly labeled assumption rather than stalling.
2. For search-relevant channels (blog, landing, press), identify the primary keyword and 2-3 secondary terms.
3. Draft the hook first. Write a headline plus 2 alternates; open with the reader's problem or a concrete benefit — never throat-clearing.
4. Structure for the channel: blog uses scannable H2/H3; social respects platform length and native tone; email uses subject + preview + short body + one CTA; landing uses hero → benefits → social proof → CTA; press uses inverted pyramid with dateline and boilerplate.
5. Apply SEO where relevant: keyword in title, first 100 words, and one subhead; meta description under 155 chars; descriptive links; alt-text notes for images.
6. Close with one clear primary CTA — resist stacking multiple asks.
7. Self-check against goal, message, and tone before delivering.

## Example

Brief: LinkedIn post, audience = B2B founders, goal = webinar signups, message = "guessing at pricing costs you deals." Draft opens: "You lost that deal on price. You just don't know it yet." Body: 3 short lines on the hidden cost of guessed pricing. One CTA: "Join Thursday's teardown → [link]." No hashtags stuffed, native tone, one ask.

## Pitfalls

- Burying the value under an intro paragraph nobody reads — lead with the hook.
- Keyword-stuffing that reads like a robot; write for the human, place keywords naturally.
- Multiple competing CTAs that split the reader's attention.
- Ignoring channel norms (a press-release voice on TikTok, or a novel where a tweet belongs).

## Output format

```
Channel + target keyword(s): <...>
Headline: <primary> | Alt 1 | Alt 2
--- DRAFT (in correct channel formatting) ---
<full draft>
---
SEO (if applicable): meta title <...> | meta description <...>
CTA: <primary> (A/B variant: <...>)
Notes: <assumptions, image/alt-text placeholders>
```
