# Sales Create Asset

## When to use
Use this when a deal needs a leave-behind — a one-pager, a short deck outline, an ROI summary, or a mutual action plan — tailored to this account rather than a generic template.

**Not for:** cold-outreach messages (use sales-draft-outreach); post-call recap emails (use sales-call-summary); competitor battlecards (use sales-competitive-intel).

## Method
1. **Pin the asset and audience.** Confirm the format and who reads it (champion, economic buyer, procurement). The reader dictates depth and tone. **Decision point:** economic buyer → lead with ROI/payback; champion → give them ammo to sell internally.
2. **Anchor to deal context.** Pull the prospect's stated pain, goals, metrics, and stage. The asset must reflect their words, not your boilerplate.
3. **Choose the value narrative.** Lead with their outcome, not your feature list. Structure as problem → approach → proof → outcome.
4. **Quantify.** Include ROI, time-to-value, or cost-of-inaction using their numbers where available; label any figure you assumed.
5. **Add proof.** Slot in the most relevant customer story, metric, or integration for their segment.
6. **Make it skimmable.** Headlines carry the message; body supports. One idea per section.
7. **Close with next step.** Every asset ends pointing at the next action. **Decision point:** no numbers available → build a cost-of-inaction frame instead of fabricating ROI.

## Example
Champion at a retailer needs a one-pager to pitch her VP. Anchored to her stated pain ("manual reconciliation eats 12 hrs/week"): headline "Cut reconciliation from 12 hours to under 1." Sections: the 12-hr problem → automated matching approach → a same-segment customer who hit 90% reduction → projected outcome using her team's loaded cost. Ends with "Next: 30-min VP walkthrough." Assumed loaded cost flagged for her to confirm.

## Pitfalls
- **Boilerplate with a logo swap.** If it reads generic, the buyer knows and discounts it.
- **Feature-led narrative.** Leading with capabilities instead of their outcome loses the reader.
- **Unlabeled assumed numbers.** An ROI figure presented as fact detonates in procurement.
- **No CTA.** An asset that doesn't point at the next step is a dead end.

## Output format
```
Asset type & audience: <one line>
Content:
  # one-pager: <section headline> — <supporting copy>
  # deck: Slide N — <headline> — <bullets> — [speaker note]
Personalization used: <which deal facts drove it>
Assumptions: <figures/claims to verify before sending>
Suggested next step: <the CTA embedded in the asset>
```
