# Sales Daily Briefing

## When to use
Use this at the start of the day when you have calendar, pipeline, and inbox signals and need one ranked list of what matters — so the rep works the highest-leverage actions instead of the loudest ones.

**Not for:** weekly pipeline health inspection (use sales-pipeline-review); period forecasting (use sales-forecast); deep prep for a single call (use sales-call-prep).

## Method
1. **Gather inputs.** Pull today's meetings, deals with movement or aging, unanswered prospect replies, and triggers (new signups, champion changes, renewals due).
2. **Score by impact and urgency.** Rank by deal value × stage × time-sensitivity. A stalled six-figure deal outranks a fresh low-value lead. **Decision point:** two items tie → break it by reversibility (a today-only window beats an anytime task).
3. **Prep today's meetings.** For each call, give a one-line objective and the single thing to remember.
4. **Surface at-risk deals.** Flag anything gone quiet, slipping past close date, or missing a next step.
5. **List hot follow-ups.** Replies and commitments owed today, with the action needed.
6. **Note new signals.** Trigger events worth a same-day outreach.
7. **Cap the list.** Give a focused top set, not an exhaustive dump. **Decision point:** more than ~3 "top" priorities → you haven't prioritized; force-rank and demote.

## Example
Inputs: 4 meetings, 2 aging deals, 6 unread replies, 1 renewal in 5 days. Output top 3: (1) $180K deal silent 9 days with close date this week — call the champion before noon; (2) renewal in 5 days, no QBR booked — send scheduling link now; (3) reply from an economic buyer asking for pricing — respond before the 10am call. Everything else drops below the fold. Focus line: "Protect the two deals closing this week."

## Pitfalls
- **Dumping, not ranking.** A 20-item list is a to-do list, not a briefing; it defaults the rep to the loudest item.
- **Recency bias.** The newest email is rarely the highest-leverage action.
- **Meeting prep as an afterthought.** A call with no objective is a wasted slot.
- **Missing the silent deal.** Big deals die quietly; aging + no-next-step must surface.

## Output format
```
Top 3 priorities (ranked):
  1. <specific action> — why: <impact>
Today's meetings:
  - <time> — <account> — objective: <one line>
At-risk deals:
  - <deal> — <issue> — move: <recommended>
Follow-ups owed:
  - <contact> — <action> — due today
New signals:
  - <trigger> — play: <suggested>
One-line focus: <theme of the day>
```
