# Gtm Activation Pmm

> Activates the GTM plan at launch including channel execution and partner coordination. Use when launch day arrives and the GTM plan needs to move from strategy to execution. Also consider when a launch is being phased across segments or geographies. Suggest when cross-functional teams need a single activation checklist to coordinate against.

## Skill Description
Activates the GTM plan at launch including channel execution and partner coordination, turning the strategic launch plan into coordinated, time-bound actions across marketing, sales, CS, and partner teams.

## When to Use
- Launch day or launch-week execution window has arrived and the GTM plan needs to go live.
- A phased rollout requires sequenced activation across segments, tiers, or geographies.
- Partner or co-marketing launch activities need coordinated timing with internal channels.
- A launch has been delayed and activation assets need re-sequencing.
- Post-launch, early signal data suggests activation adjustments (channel mix, messaging emphasis).

## Workflow
1. Confirm launch readiness. Verify that all prerequisite deliverables are complete: enablement brief distributed, sales trained, product deployed, marketing assets staged, and PR/comms queued.
2. Distribute the activation checklist to all functional leads with time-stamped milestones. Each item has an owner, a due time, and a done/blocked status.
3. Trigger owned-channel activation: product changelog, in-app announcement, email campaign to target segment, blog post, and social posts per the content calendar.
4. Coordinate earned and partner channels. Confirm analyst briefing schedule, partner co-marketing posts, and any press embargo lifts are synchronised with owned-channel timing.
5. Activate sales motion. Confirm the enablement brief is pinned in the sales channel, CRM fields are updated for the new product/feature, and SDR sequences are live.
6. Monitor activation metrics in real time during the first 24-48 hours: email open and click rates, blog traffic, in-app engagement, social impressions, and inbound demo requests.
7. Run a daily activation standup during launch week. Surface blockers, adjust channel emphasis based on early signals, and redistribute budget if a channel underperforms.
8. Coordinate any Day 2+ content drops (customer story, demo video, webinar registration push) that were planned as part of a multi-day launch sequence.
9. At the end of launch week, compile an activation summary: what fired on time, what was blocked, early performance metrics, and recommended follow-up actions.
10. Hand off sustained marketing motions (ongoing campaigns, nurture sequences) to the demand-gen or content team with context on what resonated during activation.

## Anti-Patterns
- **Activating channels without confirming product readiness.** *Why: Driving traffic to a feature that is not yet deployed destroys buyer trust and creates support load with zero conversion.*
- **Treating activation as a single-day event.** *Why: Multi-day launch sequences outperform single-day blasts because different buyer segments engage on different timelines.*
- **Skipping the real-time monitoring loop.** *Why: Without early signal data, you cannot redirect spend or emphasis to the channels that are actually working.*
- **Letting each team activate independently without a shared checklist.** *Why: Uncoordinated activation leads to messaging inconsistency, timing gaps, and duplicated efforts.*
- **Failing to hand off sustained motions post-launch.** *Why: Launch energy dissipates within a week; without a handoff, pipeline generation drops off a cliff after activation ends.*

## Output

**Success:**
- All activation checklist items completed within the planned time window with owner sign-off.
- Activation summary report with channel-level performance metrics delivered within 48 hours of launch-week close.
- Clean handoff document for sustained marketing motions with performance context.

**Failure:**
- Channels activated out of sequence, causing messaging confusion or traffic to unready assets.
- No real-time monitoring during launch week, resulting in wasted spend on underperforming channels.
- Activation ends with no summary and no handoff, leaving sustained motions orphaned.
