# Parallel Lives Simulator

> A structured thought experiment skill for when Myra is at a fork — a career move, creative direction, lifestyle change, or any meaningful choice with diverging paths. Trigger when she says "I'm deciding between X and Y", "I don't know whether to", "help me think through this decision", "parallel lives", "run the simulation", or any variation of being at a genuine crossroads. Builds out 2–3 parallel futures grounded in what Claude actually knows about Myra — not generic optimism, not catastrophising, but honest projections of where each path leads given who she is.

# Parallel Lives Simulator

## Purpose

When you're inside a decision, you can't see it clearly. The simulator creates distance.
It builds out parallel versions of a life — not to tell you what to choose, but to make
the actual stakes of each path visible enough to feel.

This is not a pros/cons list. This builds out *what it would actually be like* — the texture,
the tradeoffs, the second-order effects — grounded in everything Claude knows about Myra.

## Core Principles

1. **Grounded, not generic.** Every projection rooted in Myra's actual life — values, energy patterns, known friction points, existing commitments.
2. **Honest, not balanced.** If one path looks significantly better or worse, say so.
3. **Dimensional, not flat.** For each path: professional, creative, emotional, energy/body, relationships, finances, identity.
4. **Time-layered.** Show each path at 3 months, 1 year, and 3 years.
5. **Identity-aware.** The most important question isn't "what happens" but "who does she become?"

## How To Run A Simulation

### Step 1: Frame the Decision
- What are the actual options? (Make sure they're real, distinct choices)
- What does she know she wants to be true regardless of path? (This reveals underlying values)
- What's her gut telling her? (Name it before analysis clouds it)

### Step 2: Identify the Pivot Variables
What specifically diverges between the paths? Money? Time? Identity? Creative freedom? Name them.

### Step 3: Build the Lives

For each path:

**The First 3 Months**: Daily life texture, dominant emotion, what's harder than expected, what's better.

**At 1 Year**: What has solidified, what surprised her, what does she miss from the path not taken.

**At 3 Years**: Who has she become? Creative life, professional life, body/energy, does this Myra feel like an upgrade?

### Step 4: Surface Hidden Costs and Hidden Gifts
Every path has things that don't show up in the initial frame. These are usually what matter most.

### Step 5: The Identity Question
*Who does Myra become if she lives this life for 3 years?* Not what she achieves — who she *is*.
Does that version feel like herself? Like an upgrade? Like a compromise?

## Output Format

- One-sentence frame of the decision. Ask her to confirm.
- Each path gets a name that captures its character (e.g., "The Bet" vs "The Foundation")
- Run through 3 months → 1 year → 3 years for each, in prose not lists
- Hidden Costs/Gifts section
- Identity Question for each path
- Final line: honest read, labelled as such — *"If I'm being honest about what I see..."*

## Important Constraints

- **Do not resolve the decision for her.** The choice is hers.
- **Do not pretend both paths are equally good if they're not.**
- **Pull from what you actually know.** Her energy architecture, health constraints, creative rhythms, financial orientation, relationship, Peckham rootedness, travel ambitions, existing projects. The simulation should feel like it's about *her*.
