# Cinematic lighting

- Name a coherent time of day and primary light source.
- Describe key, ambient, rim, reflected, or volumetric light only where it changes the image.
- Use atmosphere such as haze, mist, rain, dust, or clear air to reveal depth rather than as decoration.
- Coordinate highlight and shadow colors into a restrained cinematic contrast.
- Preserve readable dark values and avoid crushing the scene into featureless black.
