### Important Notes
- Web service plans (Basic/Pro/Business) and **API plans** are **operated separately**
- **Starter plan API keys** and **new SSFM API keys** are **not compatible** (causes 403 error)

Use Quick Voice Cloning when the user wants to create a custom voice from a short audio sample, use it for TTS, then remove it when finished.

## Beyond Basic TTS (New in 2026-04+)

The API has gained four new public surface areas. The original quick start covers only `POST /v1/text-to-speech`; for streaming, captions, runtime quota lookup, and absolute loudness normalization use the patterns below.

### Streaming TTS

`POST /v1/text-to-speech/stream` returns chunked audio in real time for low-latency playback. The streaming endpoint does **not** accept `volume` or `target_lufs` — drop those fields from the request body or the server returns 4xx.

### Captions (Timestamps → SRT / WebVTT)

`POST /v1/text-to-speech/with-timestamps` returns the audio (base64-encoded) alongside word- and character-level alignment. The official `typecast-python` and `typecast-js` SDKs ship `to_srt()` / `to_vtt()` helpers that turn the alignment into subtitle files in one line. The same caption rule (sentence boundary + 7.0s / 42-char limit per cue) is implemented byte-for-byte across all 11 SDKs and the `cast` CLI's `cast captions` subcommand.

For non-whitespace languages (`jpn`, `zho`), pass `granularity=char` or `both`. With `word` on those languages the server collapses the entire sentence into a single word segment.

### Subscription Info

`GET /v1/users/me/subscription` returns the authenticated user's plan tier, credit usage, and concurrency limit. Useful for runtime quota display, batching decisions, and rate-limit guards.

### Loudness Normalization (`target_lufs`)

`output.target_lufs` (range `-70.0 ~ 0.0`) normalizes output loudness to a target LUFS value (e.g. `-14` for podcast / streaming standards). Mutually exclusive with a custom `volume` on the non-streaming endpoint, and not accepted by the streaming endpoint at all.
