# Direct Response Copy for Talosix EDC

## Purpose

Produce copy that compels a specific action -- a demo request, a download, a sign-up, a reply. This is not brand awareness content. Every word exists to move the reader toward a single conversion event. The skill applies proven direct response frameworks to the unique psychology of clinical trial technology buyers.

## Clinical Trial Buyer Psychology

Before applying any framework, understand who you are writing for and how they make decisions.

### Buyer Profile: Clinical Trial Technology Decision-Makers

**Risk tolerance:** Very low. Their purchasing decisions affect regulatory compliance, patient safety, and audit outcomes. A bad EDC choice can delay trials, trigger FDA findings, and damage careers.

**Decision process:** Consensus-driven. Rarely one person decides. Typical buying committee includes Clinical Ops, Data Management, IT/Validation, Procurement, and sometimes Biostatistics and Medical. Copy must address multiple stakeholders.

**Evidence requirements:** High. This audience is trained in scientific rigor. They want data, case studies, reference customers, and proof. Hype triggers skepticism, not excitement.

**Cycle length:** Long (3-12 months). Copy must nurture through a multi-stage process, not close in one impression.

**Key motivators (use these in copy):**
- Reduce regulatory risk and audit exposure
- Accelerate timelines without sacrificing quality
- Lower total cost of ownership (not just license cost)
- Simplify compliance (21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, GDPR)
- Improve data quality and reduce query burden
- Free data management teams from repetitive configuration
- Support modern trial designs (decentralized, adaptive, hybrid)

**Key fears (acknowledge these, then resolve them):**
- Vendor lock-in with proprietary data formats
- Failed system validation consuming months
- Poor site adoption creating data quality problems
- Hidden costs (implementation, validation, training, integrations)
- Platform instability during critical study phases
- Loss of data integrity during migration

### Power Words for Clinical Trial Buyers

**Words that build trust:**
Validated, compliant, auditable, documented, proven, configurable, secure, integrated, transparent, traceable, inspection-ready

**Words that signal efficiency:**
Streamlined, accelerated, automated, simplified, reusable, library-driven, reduced, faster, fewer, eliminated

**Words that address risk:**
Protected, controlled, governed, monitored, certified, tested, verified, backed

**Words to avoid (trigger skepticism):**
Revolutionary, disruptive, game-changing, cutting-edge, best-in-class, unlimited, guaranteed, seamless, effortless, turnkey

## Framework 1: PAS (Problem-Agitation-Solution)

### When to Use
Landing pages, email headers, ad copy where the audience has an identified pain point.

### Structure

**Problem (identify the pain):**
Name the specific operational pain point. Be precise enough that the reader thinks "they understand my situation."

**Agitation (make the pain vivid):**
Expand on the consequences. What happens if this problem persists? How does it affect their team, their timelines, their audits? Do not fabricate fear -- amplify real, known consequences.

**Solution (present the relief):**
Position Talosix as the resolution. Connect specific capabilities to the problem. Include proof (metric, case study reference, or testimonial).

### PAS Template: Landing Page

```
[PROBLEM]
H1: [State the problem as the audience experiences it]
Subhead: [Quantify the problem -- time, cost, risk]
[AGITATION]
Body: You know the pattern. [Describe the cycle of frustration].
Every [time period], your team spends [X hours/days] on [painful task].
Meanwhile, [consequence 1]. And [consequence 2].
The longer you wait, [escalating consequence].
[SOLUTION]
H2: There is a better way.
Body: Talosix [specific capability] lets your team [desired outcome].
[Customer name/type] reduced [metric] by [percentage] in [timeframe].
[How it works in 2-3 sentences].
CTA: [Single, clear action]
```

### PAS Example: Study Build Landing Page

```
Your study build takes 12 weeks. It should take 3.
Every week your EDC configuration drags on, site activation waits.
Your data managers rebuild the same edit checks they built last quarter.
Protocol amendments mean starting over. Again.
That is not a technology problem. That is a workflow problem.
Talosix study build uses a library-driven approach that eliminates
repetitive configuration. One mid-size CRO cut study build from 14 weeks
to 5 across 12 studies -- without adding staff.
See how it works in a 15-minute demo.
[REQUEST A DEMO]
```

## Framework 2: AIDA (Attention-Interest-Desire-Action)

### When to Use
Top-of-funnel content, ads, email sequences, and any copy where the audience may not yet know they have the problem.

### Structure

**Attention:** Capture attention with a bold statement, question, or data point.
**Interest:** Build interest by connecting to their world -- reference their role, their challenges, their industry.
**Desire:** Create desire by showing what life looks like with the solution -- paint the "after" state.
**Action:** Direct them to one clear next step.

### AIDA Template: Email

```
Subject: [Attention-grabbing, benefit-focused, 40-60 chars]
Preview: [Complementary tease, 80-100 chars]
[ATTENTION]
[Opening line: surprising stat, bold question, or pattern interrupt]
[INTEREST]
[2-3 sentences connecting to their specific role and challenges]
[Reference a common clinical trial workflow pain point]
[DESIRE]
[2-3 sentences painting the improved state]
[Include a specific metric or proof point]
[Make them feel what "better" looks like]
[ACTION]
[One clear CTA -- button or text link]
[Reduce friction: "takes 30 seconds" or "no commitment"]
[Signature]
```

### AIDA Template: Digital Ad Copy

```
[ATTENTION - Headline, 30-40 chars]
[INTEREST - Description line 1, 80-90 chars]
[DESIRE - Description line 2, 80-90 chars]
[ACTION - CTA button text]
```

## Framework 3: StoryBrand

### When to Use
Website hero sections, about pages, sales pages, and any copy that needs to position the customer as the hero.

### Structure (StoryBrand 7-Part Framework)

1. **A character** (the customer) -- Name their role and aspiration
2. **Has a problem** -- External (operational), internal (frustration), philosophical (why it matters)
3. **And meets a guide** (Talosix) -- Show empathy + authority
4. **Who gives them a plan** -- 3-step process to success
5. **And calls them to action** -- Direct CTA + transitional CTA
6. **That helps them avoid failure** -- What happens without action
7. **And ends in success** -- The transformed state

### StoryBrand Template: Website Hero Section

```
H1: [Statement of what the customer wants]
Subhead: [Brief description of how Talosix helps them get it]
[Direct CTA button: "Request a Demo"]
[Transitional CTA link: "See How It Works"]
--- Below the fold ---
THE PROBLEM
[External: Your EDC platform slows down study startup]
[Internal: You are frustrated by tools that do not match how your team actually works]
[Philosophical: Clinical trial teams deserve technology built for their reality]
THE PLAN
Step 1: [Simple first step -- e.g., "Tell us about your studies"]
Step 2: [Middle step -- e.g., "We configure your library"]
Step 3: [Success step -- e.g., "Your team builds studies in days"]
AVOID FAILURE
[What happens if they stay with status quo -- missed timelines, audit risk, team burnout]
SUCCESS
[The transformed state -- faster studies, cleaner data, confident audits, happier teams]
```

## Framework 4: Before-After-Bridge (BAB)

### When to Use
Social ads, retargeting copy, short-form email, and anywhere you need to be concise.

### Structure

**Before:** Describe the current painful state (2-3 sentences).
**After:** Describe the desired future state (2-3 sentences).
**Bridge:** Show how Talosix gets them from Before to After (1-2 sentences + CTA).

### BAB Template: Retargeting Ad

```
BEFORE: Your data management team spends 40% of their time resolving queries
that better edit checks would have prevented.
AFTER: Imagine closing your database 3 weeks earlier because your query rate
dropped by half -- without adding staff.
BRIDGE: Talosix EDC's intelligent edit check engine makes it happen.
See a 15-minute demo.
[CTA: BOOK A DEMO]
```

## Asset-Specific Application Guide

### Landing Pages

**Structure:**
1. Hero section (StoryBrand or PAS framework)
2. Problem section (agitate the pain with data)
3. Solution section (how Talosix solves it, with specifics)
4. Social proof section (customer logos, quote, metric)
5. How it works (3-step plan)
6. Objection handling (FAQ format addressing top 3-5 concerns)
7. Final CTA section (repeat the primary call to action)

**Rules:**
- One page, one offer, one CTA
- Remove navigation if possible (reduce exit paths)
- Above-the-fold must contain: headline, value prop, CTA
- Page load speed matters -- recommend minimal imagery

### Email Subject Lines and Headers

Generate 5 subject line variants for every email, categorized:

1. **Curiosity:** "The one metric that predicts EDC project success"
2. **Data-led:** "Clinical trials waste 23% of data management time on queries"
3. **Question:** "Is your study build process costing you 8 extra weeks?"
4. **How-to:** "How to cut your database lock cycle in half"
5. **Social proof:** "How [Company type] reduced query rates by 52%"

### Ad Copy (Google, LinkedIn, Display)

**Google Search Ads:**
- Headline 1 (30 chars): Primary keyword + benefit
- Headline 2 (30 chars): Differentiator or proof point
- Headline 3 (30 chars): CTA
- Description 1 (90 chars): Expand on the benefit
- Description 2 (90 chars): Social proof or urgency

**LinkedIn Sponsored Content:**
- Introductory text (150 chars for mobile visibility)
- Headline (70 chars)
- Description (100 chars)
- CTA button: Select from platform options (Learn More, Sign Up, Download, Request Demo)

### CTAs (Calls to Action)

**CTA hierarchy by funnel stage:**

| Funnel Stage | CTA Type | Examples |
|-------------|----------|----------|
| Top (awareness) | Low friction | "Read the Guide," "Watch the Overview," "See the Data" |
| Middle (consideration) | Medium friction | "Download the Checklist," "Compare Platforms," "See Pricing" |
| Bottom (decision) | High friction | "Request a Demo," "Talk to an Expert," "Start Your Evaluation" |

**CTA copy rules:**
- Start with a verb
- Be specific (not "Learn More" but "See Study Build in Action")
- Reduce perceived friction ("Takes 30 seconds," "No commitment")
- Match the CTA to the content's promise (if you promised a checklist, the CTA delivers a checklist)

## A/B Variant Generation Protocol

For every piece of direct response copy, produce:

**Variant A:** The primary version using the best-fit framework
**Variant B:** An alternative with one key change

**What to vary (test one element at a time):**
- Headline (different hook angle)
- Framework (e.g., PAS vs. AIDA for the same content)
- CTA (different action verb or friction level)
- Opening line (data-led vs. story-led)
- Length (concise vs. detailed)

**Label each variant:**
```
VARIANT A: [Framework] -- [Hook type]
VARIANT B: [Framework] -- [Hook type]
HYPOTHESIS: [What we expect to learn from this test]
```

## Output Deliverables

For every direct response copy request, provide:

1. **Audience and psychology analysis** (which buyer persona, what motivates them, what they fear)
2. **Framework recommendation** with justification
3. **Complete copy** using the chosen framework
4. **A/B variant** with labeled differences and hypothesis
5. **CTA recommendation** with funnel-stage justification
6. **Objection pre-handling notes** (top 3 objections this copy should address)
7. **Conversion optimization notes** (layout, friction reduction, trust signal placement)
