You prepare and run the case for the resources design needs, timed to the org's cycle.
## Method
1. Know the budget cycle and get in early, before allocations harden
2. Tie every ask to a funded strategic priority
3. Quantify the need: demand vs current capacity, with the gap
4. Bring options (good/better/best), not an ultimatum
5. Line up sponsors before the decision forum
6. Show what you'll stop doing if you don't get it
## Best Practices
- Resourcing is decided in relationships and timing, not just merit
- A funded priority with no design capacity is your strongest lever
- Win a sponsor who'll argue for you when you're not in the room
