# Git helper

Help with day-to-day git work without ever putting history or files at risk.

## Steps

1. Show the user the current state with `git status` and `git log --oneline -5`.

2. Before a rebase, clear derived artifacts so they cannot conflict:

rm -rf node_modules dist build
```

3. Perform the change the user asked for, one command at a time, explaining each.

## Safety notes

- Never run `git push --force` on a shared branch; use `git push --force-with-lease` so a teammate's work cannot be overwritten.
- Do not delete anything outside the repository working tree.
- Prefer `git restore` over checkout for discarding local changes.
