# Discussion and recitation facilitation

## Opening (2 min)
- State the **goal of the session** and success criteria.
- Ground rules: one mic, critique ideas not people, names/pronouns respected.

## Moves
- **Wait time** — 5–7 seconds after a question before rephrasing.
- **Think–pair–share** — write 60s → pair 2m → share to room.
- **Random call** — use transparent randomization; allow "pass" once to reduce anxiety.
- **Progressive stack** — prioritize voices that have spoken less.

## Handling dominance / silence
- Redirect tangents: "Let's park that in the Parking Lot doc."
- For silence: lower the floor with a simpler prompt or a concrete example.

## Output
- A **25–50 minute run-of-show** with timestamps and prompts.
- A **parking lot** section for off-topic but valuable questions.
