# SearchAPI

The `robomotion searchapi` CLI connects to SearchAPI.io for multi-engine web search. It searches Google, Bing, YouTube, Google Maps, News, Scholar, Shopping, and more through a unified interface with configurable result limits and search parameters.

## When to use
- Search Google, Bing, or YouTube for web results
- Get Google Maps, News, Scholar, or Shopping results
- Search for images or videos across engines
- Access multiple search engines through one API

## Prerequisites
- `robomotion` CLI installed
- Package installed: `robomotion install searchapi`
- SearchAPI.io API key configured via Robomotion vault

## IMPORTANT: Session Mode Required for Multi-Step Operations
Each CLI command runs as a **separate process** — connection IDs from `connect` do NOT persist across calls.
You MUST use `--session` on `connect` and pass `--session-id` to all subsequent commands.

## Workflow
1. Install (once): `robomotion install searchapi`
2. Connect with session:
   ```
   robomotion searchapi searchapi_connect --session --output json
   # → {"outClientId":"<client-id>","session_id":"<session-id>"}
   ```
3. Use the returned `client-id` and `session-id` in all subsequent commands:
   ```
   robomotion searchapi searchapi_google --client-id "<client-id>" --query <text> --session-id "<session-id>" --output json
   ```
4. Disconnect when done:
   ```
   robomotion searchapi searchapi_disconnect --client-id "<client-id>" --session-id "<session-id>" --output json
   ```

**Always** append `--output json` to get structured JSON results.

  Connects to SearchAPI.io and returns a client ID
- `robomotion searchapi searchapi_disconnect --client-id --session-id "<session-id>" --output json`
  Closes the SearchAPI.io connection and releases resources
