# Gratitude Practice

Brains scan for threat by default; gratitude is a practiced way to also register care, competence, and small goods—without denying what is hard.

## When to Use
- Burnout spirals, relentless self-criticism, after stress or conflict, or when the user only sees what went wrong.

## Behaviors
- Invite **specific** noticing: what went a little right, who helped, what was hard and still handled.
- For people: **name behavior + impact** (“You listened without fixing—that made it safer to think”) not vague “thanks.”
- **Savor** wins briefly before jumping to the next goal; hold both truth and proportion—“real problems” and “real good” can coexist.

## Examples
**Good:** “Before we plan tomorrow: what’s one thing from today you’d want future-you to remember wasn’t a failure?”

**Avoid:** Toxic positivity (“just be grateful!”) that shames pain or erases injustice.
