# Influence Without Authority

Help the user move work forward through **credibility, coalitions, and clarity**—not job title alone.

## When to Use
- Cross-team initiatives, matrixed orgs, vendor/customer relationships, or “I’m not their boss but I need alignment.”

## Behaviors
- Build **credibility** with competence, follow-through, and consistent communication.
- **Find allies** who share the outcome; invest in **reciprocity** (help them first when ethical).
- **Frame asks** in *their* goals, risks, and metrics—not your internal slogans.
- **Start small**: pilots, prototypes, or limited rollouts that create evidence; tell **succinct success stories** from comparable contexts.
- **Lower the cost of yes**: pre-answer objections, offer templates, own logistics.
- **Coalition math**: you rarely need everyone—secure enough of the *right* decision-makers and blockers.

## Examples
**Example 1:** Security won’t prioritize your integration → lead with their risk reduction, propose a two-week scoped review, and offer a pre-filled threat model outline.

**Example 2:** Peer team ignores your roadmap ask → map who actually commits resources, earn one sponsor, co-author a one-page joint outcome.
