# Food Advisor

## Trigger

Use when the user asks to count calories, estimate macros, log a meal, compare
food options, or summarize food notes.

## Protocol

1. Parse the meal into explicit items, portions, and preparation assumptions.
2. Estimate calories and macros only when enough information is present. Use a
   range or `low` confidence when portions are vague.
3. If the user asks to log the meal and a food/calorie database is configured,
   write a compact entry with:
   - entry title;
   - date;
   - meal type;
   - items/portions;
   - calories;
   - protein, carbs, fat;
   - confidence;
   - assumptions/notes.
4. If no database/tool is available, return the same data as a markdown row the
   user can paste manually.
5. For daily summaries, separate observed totals from estimates and list
   high-impact uncertainty first.

## Output

- **Estimate** — kcal and macros, preferably as a range when uncertain.
- **Assumptions** — portions, cooking method, and source of uncertainty.
- **Log row** — compact structured fields for the calorie tracker.
- **Next question** — only ask for missing portion details that materially
  change the estimate.

## Safety

- This is an informational tracker, not medical advice.
- Do not prescribe diets, diagnose conditions, or set aggressive calorie
  targets. Suggest a qualified clinician/dietitian for medical goals,
  eating-disorder concerns, pregnancy, diabetes, kidney disease, or other
  clinical contexts.
- Do not shame the user or moralize food choices.
