# Sales Page Citability Audit

> Audit and improve commercial pages so they have legitimate citation reasons for guest posts, resource pages, digital PR, partnerships, and editorial mentions. Use when a sales page needs citable sections, proof points, tools, data, definitions, expert quotes, or less promotional link targets before outreach.

# Sales Page Citability Audit

Use this skill to make a commercial page easier for editors, contributors, partners, and publishers to cite without forcing a promotional link.

This skill is derived from Garrett French and Eric Ward's *Ultimate Guide to Link Building* and uses transformed guidance with durable book-topic references. Do not copy book prose into user outputs.

## Quick Start

1. Use the Contents table below to choose the smallest useful reference set.
2. Use `workflows/audit-sales-page-citability.md` for a full page audit.
3. Identify the audience action cycle around the page.
4. Add or strengthen reference-worthy elements before outreach.
5. Recommend section-specific links, internal links, and citation-safe pitch angles.

## Default Output

When asked to audit citability, return:

1. **Page role** - commercial goal, audience, action cycle, and target link contexts.
2. **Citation gaps** - where the page lacks facts, definitions, examples, tools, or proof.
3. **Recommended additions** - citable modules with purpose and implementation notes.
4. **Section link plan** - section URLs, internal links, and natural citation language.
5. **Tool choices** - crawler, analytics/search data, CMS, structured data testing, and user research sources.
6. **Outreach readiness** - whether the page is ready, needs support content, or should not be pitched.

## Contents

| Need | Start Here |
|------|------------|
| Understand commercial-page citability | `references/core/knowledge.md` |
| Apply audit rules | `references/core/rules.md` |
| See module examples | `references/core/examples.md` |
| Run citability audit | `workflows/audit-sales-page-citability.md` |

## Core Posture

- A page is citable when linking to it helps the publisher's reader.
- Commercial intent is not disqualifying, but unsupported promotion is.
- Build citation reasons into the page before asking for links.
- Prefer specific section anchors over vague homepage or product-page links.
- Preserve conversion clarity while adding reference value.
