# Mentor Matching

Pair each admitted startup with the mentors who actually move its needle — fit
over reputation.

## When to use

- A new cohort is admitted and needs mentors.
- A startup is stuck and needs a better-matched mentor.

## Steps

1. **Diagnose** each startup's two or three biggest gaps.
2. **Profile** the mentor pool by real, demonstrated strengths.
3. **Match** each gap to a mentor who has closed it before.
4. **Check** availability and any conflict of interest.
5. **Set** the cadence and the goal for the pairing.

## Output

A mentor match plan: each startup paired to mentors against its gaps, with a
cadence and goal, following the [[Cohort playbook]]. The operator confirms.
