# Venture Thesis

Turn a spark of an idea into a thesis the studio can test — clear on the bet and
the assumption most likely to kill it.

## When to use

- A new opportunity is proposed for the studio.
- An existing venture needs its thesis re-examined.

## Steps

1. **State** the problem and who feels it most acutely.
2. **Frame** the wedge and why the studio can win here.
3. **Name** the riskiest assumption the whole thing rests on.
4. **Design** the cheapest test of that assumption.
5. **Set** the signal that says build, pivot, or shelve.

## Output

A venture thesis: problem, wedge, riskiest assumption, and its test, following
the [[Studio standards]]. The operator decides whether to fund the test.
