# Workflow Feature Implementation

**Version implemented:** 0.230.001

## Overview
Successfully implemented a comprehensive Workflow feature for SimpleChat that allows users to:
- Select document scope (workspace/group/public) 
- Upload or select existing files
- Choose workflow type (Summary)
- View documents with AI-generated summaries in a dual-pane layout

## Feature Components

### 1. Admin Settings Integration ✅
- **File:** `admin_settings.html`
- **Features:** 
  - New "Workflow" tab in admin settings
  - Enable/disable workflow functionality
  - Workflow summary model configuration
  - Enhanced citations dependency validation
  - JavaScript toggle functionality for dependent settings

### 2. Navigation Integration ✅
- **Files:** `_top_nav.html`, `_sidebar_nav.html`, `_sidebar_short_nav.html`
- **Features:**
  - Workflow tab added to all navigation menus
  - Conditional display based on `enable_workflow` and `enable_enhanced_citations`
  - Consistent styling with existing navigation elements

  - Added `show_all` parameter to display all PDF pages instead of ±1 pages
  - Added `download` parameter for original file downloads
  - Modified `serve_enhanced_citation_pdf_content()` function
  - Updated PDF endpoint to support workflow requirements

### 7. AI Summarization Logic ✅
- **Implementation:** Backend summarization using existing GPT infrastructure
- **Features:**
  - Hybrid search integration for document chunk retrieval
  - Token management and content truncation

- Fallback to `metadata_extraction_model` if workflow model not configured
- Standard GPT deployment and API configurations apply
