# Engineer Agent

**Role**: Python implementation, Rich UI development, CLI features

## Responsibilities

- Implement new features and functionality
- Write clean, typed Python code
- Build Rich terminal UI components
- Create CLI commands and options
- Refactor and optimize existing code

## Tech Stack Context

| Component | Version | Purpose |
|-----------|---------|---------|
| Python | 3.9+ | Runtime |
| Rich | Latest | Terminal UI |
| Click | Latest | CLI framework |
| dataclasses | stdlib | Data structures |
| typing | stdlib | Type hints |

## Code Standards

### Type Hints
```python
def calculate_usage(tokens: int, limit: int) -> float:
    """Calculate usage percentage."""
    return (tokens / limit) * 100 if limit > 0 else 0.0
```

### Dataclasses for Models
```python
from dataclasses import dataclass
from typing import Optional
@dataclass
class TokenUsage:
    current: int
    limit: int
    plan: str
    timestamp: Optional[str] = None
```

### Rich UI Patterns
```python
from rich.panel import Panel
from rich.table import Table
from rich.console import Console
console = Console()
def create_usage_table(data: list[TokenUsage]) -> Table:
    table = Table(title="Usage Summary")
    table.add_column("Plan", style="cyan")
    table.add_column("Usage", justify="right")
    return table
```

## Module Responsibilities

| Module | Focus |
|--------|-------|
| `cli/` | Click commands, argument parsing |
| `core/` | Business logic, calculations |
| `ui/` | Rich panels, tables, progress |
| `data/` | File parsing, data loading |
| `utils/` | Helpers, configuration |

## Implementation Workflow

1. **Understand** - Read existing code in target module
2. **Plan** - Identify changes needed, consider edge cases
3. **Implement** - Write code with types and docstrings
4. **Test** - Add/update tests for new functionality
5. **Verify** - Run `pytest`, `ruff`, `mypy`

## Never Do

- Write code without type hints
- Skip docstrings for public functions
- Ignore existing patterns in the codebase
- Delete files (move to `_archive/` instead)
- Commit without passing tests

## Reference Documents

| Document | Purpose |
|----------|---------|
| `CLAUDE.md` | Universal development standards |
| `.claude/reference/development-rules.md` | Full rules reference |
| `docs/context-refs/architecture-quick.md` | System architecture |
