# Offer Forge: Offer Design & Packaging

Turn a plain product or service into a package people find hard to refuse — by engineering the value stack, the price, the guarantee, and the urgency as one deliberate system.

## When to Use

Bring in this skill when you need to:
- Build offers that make products or services genuinely compelling
- Work out pricing and the value proposition behind it
- Map out value ladders and product ecosystems
- Craft guarantees that dissolve buyer hesitation
- Put pricing psychology to work
- Assemble offer stacks that push perceived value up
- Package digital products, courses, coaching, or templates
- Lift conversion rates through deliberate offer architecture

## Core Offer Design Principles

### 1. Value > Price
What the buyer perceives must tower over what they pay. Target a value-to-price ratio of at least 10x. Sell the outcome transformation, never the feature list.

### 2. Clarity Beats Cleverness
An offer that needs explaining is an offer that loses. A confused prospect walks away. The whole thing should land within 30 seconds. One sharp promise outperforms a pile of fuzzy benefits.

### 3. Risk Reversal
Put the risk on the seller's shoulders, not the buyer's. When the product genuinely delivers, a bold guarantee lifts conversions. A timid guarantee tells buyers the product is timid too.

### 4. Urgency Without Manipulation
Genuine deadlines and genuine scarcity move people to act. Manufactured urgency burns trust. Stick to real time limits, real capacity caps, or real bonus cutoffs.

### 5. Emotional + Logical Appeal
The heart decides, the head rationalizes. Serve both: the emotional transformation (dream outcome) and the rational case (testimonials, data, guarantees).

## Value Equation Framework

**Value = (Dream Outcome × Perceived Likelihood) / (Time Delay × Effort Required)**

### Increase Value By:
- **Dream Outcome**: Sharpen and intensify the end result the buyer wants
- **Perceived Likelihood**: Build belief with proof, testimonials, case studies
- **Time Delay**: Shrink the wait between purchase and results (speed raises value)
- **Effort Required**: Lower the implementation burden (done-for-you > do-it-yourself)

### Application
For every offer, push the numerator up (outcome + likelihood) and pull the denominator down (time + effort). Write down exactly how the offer moves each variable.

## Best Practices

### Before Creating an Offer
1. Dig into the target audience's real pain points and desires
2. Pin down the dream outcome they're chasing
3. Write out every obstacle standing between them and it
4. Shape the offer so it removes or shrinks those obstacles
5. Collect evidence the solution works (testimonials, case studies, data)

### Offer Stack Structure
1. **Core Offer**: The main product/service (clearly defined)
2. **Strategic Bonuses**: 3-5 bonuses that speed up results or cut effort
3. **Guarantee**: Risk reversal that dissolves purchase anxiety
4. **Urgency/Scarcity**: A genuine reason to act today
5. **Price Anchor**: Total value shown against the actual price

### Market Localization Notes
- Buyers distrust digital goods more than physical ones
- Price sensitivity shifts with the segment (business owners vs employees)
- Testimonials and social proof pull heavy weight
- Installment options widen access and lift conversions
- Community and group components raise perceived value

### Testing and Optimization
- Trial multiple price points instead of guessing
- A/B test how the guarantee is worded
- Log conversion rates for each offer variation
- Ask non-buyers what held them back
- Let real numbers, not hunches, drive refinements

## Common Mistakes to Avoid

1. **Weak Value Proposition**: Vague benefits where a specific transformation should be
2. **Too Many Options**: Decision fatigue kills the sale (cap it at 1-3 options)
3. **No Proof**: Unbacked claims erode trust
4. **Complicated Pricing**: Murky tiers or payment terms nobody can follow
5. **Missing Urgency**: With no reason to buy today, buyers wait forever
6. **Underpricing**: A cheap price whispers "cheap product" (price on value, not volume)
7. **Feature Dumping**: Features listed without the outcomes they unlock

## Output Format

When designing offers, provide:

```markdown
## Offer: [Name]
**Target Audience**: [specific segment]
**Dream Outcome**: [specific transformation]
**Price Point**: [amount + tier level]
### Core Offer
[Main product/service details]
### Value Stack
- Core: [value amount]
- Bonus 1: [name + value]
- Bonus 2: [name + value]
- Bonus 3: [name + value]
**Total Value**: [sum]
**Your Investment**: [actual price]
### Guarantee
[Specific guarantee with clear terms]
### Urgency Element
[Time/quantity/bonus deadline]
### Conversion Copy
[Key messaging points]
```

## Live Research Protocol

**IMPORTANT**: Anchor every offer decision in live market data pulled with real-time tools.

### Core Tools (Built-in, always available)

#### Web Search (Price + Offer Benchmarking)
Before designing any offer, run this search set:
```
Search: "[product type] pricing [niche] [year]"       → Market price benchmarks
Search: "[niche] course price [country]"                  → your target market pricing
Search: "[competitor] offer bonuses"                    → Competitor stack analysis
Search: "[niche] guarantee refund policy"               → Guarantee benchmarks
Search: "[product type] value proposition examples"     → Positioning inspiration
```

#### Web Fetch (Competitor Offer Teardown)
Pull competitor sales and pricing pages apart:
- Extract exact pricing tiers + what's included in each
- Identify bonus structures and value stacking patterns
- Analyze guarantee wording and risk reversal approaches
- Note urgency/scarcity elements being used

### Advanced Tools (requires MCP setup)

#### Sequential Thinking (For Offer Architecture)
Lean on MCP sequential thinking for:
- Value Equation calculation → score Dream Outcome, Likelihood, Time, Effort
- Value ladder design → reason through tier progression with price justification
- Pricing psychology application → select tactics based on audience + market data
- Offer stack building → systematically add components that address obstacles

#### Gemini Brainstorm (For Creative Offer Angles) — requires Google AI API key
When ideas run dry or you want an outside view:
- Brainstorm bonus ideas tailored to the specific niche
- Question the pricing conventions of the category
- Generate guarantee variations (results-based, time-based, better-than-money-back)
- Come up with urgency mechanisms that feel honest

## Integration with Other Skills

- **Content Creator**: Use for writing sales pages and offer descriptions
- **Copywriter**: Apply to landing pages, email sequences, sales scripts
- **Marketing Strategist**: Integrate into funnel design and campaign planning
- **Product Manager**: Structure product tiers and feature bundling

The end goal: offers built so well that saying no feels like the expensive choice.
