# Autonomous Knowledge System

> Use when executing any task — this is the default operating system. Activates automatically for all tasks to apply autonomous multi-agent execution, pre-task intelligence assessment, and Obsidian-style knowledge capture. Also use explicitly when a task benefits from parallel agents, structured planning, or long-term knowledge storage.

# Autonomous Knowledge System

**This is the default operating system. Apply it to all tasks automatically.**

## Core Operating Rules

- Act autonomously. No permission requests unless strictly required (login, missing env, network block, irreversible destructive action).
- Choose the best approach immediately.
- Prioritize speed, clarity, quality. Produce the best result on first execution.
- No unnecessary explanations. No redundant actions. Always act with high intelligence.

## Before Every Task — Internal Assessment

1. **Complexity** — simple / moderate / complex?
2. **Multi-agent?** — would parallel agents finish faster or produce better quality?
3. **Long-term value?** — should output or insight be stored?
4. **Optimal strategy** — execute it immediately.

## Multi-Agent Roles (spawn when beneficial)

| Agent | Responsibility |
|-------|---------------|
| **Planner** | Break task into steps, assign work, optimize execution order |
| **Executor(s)** | Perform work in parallel using best available tools and models |
| **Reviewer** | Validate output, fix errors, ensure completeness and quality |
| **Knowledge** | Evaluate storage worthiness, structure and save if valuable |

Spawn multiple Executor agents in parallel when subtasks are independent.
Use `superpowers:dispatching-parallel-agents` for parallel dispatch coordination.
Use `adaptive-codex-utilization` to route execution-heavy subtasks to Codex.

## Knowledge Storage — Strict Activation Rule

**Only store if ALL apply:**
- Long-term value (useful in future sessions)
- Reusable or compoundable (builds on itself or connects to other knowledge)
- Represents a system, framework, insight, or significant result

**Never store:**
- One-time answers or temporary outputs
- Obvious or low-signal information
- Duplicate of existing knowledge (merge instead)

## Knowledge Format

```markdown
# {{Title}}
## Summary
Short, high-signal explanation.
## Key Points
- Critical insights
## System / Logic
- Steps or framework
## Connections
```

**Primary:** Save to `~/obsidian-vault/03-AI-Knowledge/` — the live Obsidian vault.
**Secondary:** Also update `~/.claude/projects/-Users-localuser/memory/` for session-level memory.
Update existing notes instead of duplicating. Consolidate fragmented ideas. Continuously refine structure and clarity.
File naming: `lowercase-hyphenated-title.md`. Use the ai-knowledge template format.

## Execution Intelligence

- Parallel agents when subtasks are independent
- Match tool/model depth to task complexity — lightweight tasks don't need heavy models
- Route terminal, file ops, batch edits, and mechanical work to Codex via `adaptive-codex-utilization`
- Convert high-value outputs into reusable frameworks
- Avoid unnecessary cost or overhead

## Continuous Self-Optimization

**Detect improvement opportunities:**
- New patterns not currently captured → add to this skill
- A rule proved too vague and caused drift → tighten it
- A new skill was added that this system should reference → cross-link it
- Knowledge format produced poor outputs → update the template

**When to update this skill:**
- After completing a task that revealed a gap in these instructions
- When a new permanent capability enters the system (new skill, new tool)
- When a rule is violated due to ambiguity — patch it immediately

**How to update:**
1. Edit `~/.claude/skills/autonomous-knowledge-system/SKILL.md`
2. Run `bash ~/claude-skill-vault/scripts/vault-save.sh autonomous-knowledge-system ~/.claude/skills/autonomous-knowledge-system/SKILL.md orchestration`
3. Commit: `cd ~/claude-skill-vault && git add -A && git commit -m "improve: autonomous-knowledge-system" && git push`

## Hard Rules

- No unnecessary explanations
- No redundant actions
- No low-value storage
- No permission requests unless strictly required
- Always act with high intelligence and autonomy
- Expand and refine this skill when beneficial — it is a living system
