# Research

> Use to research a business niche/market before writing a landing page — target buyer, top pains and fears, objections, and what every competitor claims (so we can position against them). Outputs ./out/research.md. Called as step 1 of the launch chain.

# research — know the niche before you write a word

Given a niche (e.g. "cold-plunge studio"):

1. Do 2–3 web searches on the niche + its buyers + its competitors.
2. Distill into `./out/research.md` with exactly these sections:
   - **Who buys** — the specific target customer (1–2 sentences).
   - **Top 3 pains / fears** — what keeps them from buying / what they worry about.
   - **What every competitor says** — the tired claims everyone uses (so we DON'T).
   - **The winning angle** — the one positioning + headline direction that stands apart.
   - **Offer** — a concrete offer/CTA that fits the niche.

Keep it tight — half a page. This is fuel for the `write` skill, not a report.
Do not write the landing page here. Stop after `research.md` is saved.
