- MUST load `prose.md` and a state backend (default: `state/filesystem.md`) whenever executing a program.
- MUST NOT search the user's workspace for OpenProse documentation; use the skill's directory.
- MUST use the default filesystem state unless explicitly instructed to use `--in-context`, `--state=sqlite`, or `--state=postgres`.
- ALWAYS verify database connectivity (e.g., `OPENPROSE_POSTGRES_URL`) before loading the `state/postgres.md` backend.
- DO NOT load `compiler.md`, `guidance/patterns.md`, or `guidance/antipatterns.md` for execution; only load them for compiling or authoring.

<process_workflow>
1. **Route Command**: Intercept `prose <command>`.
2. **Load VM**: For `prose run`, load `prose.md` and the appropriate state `.md`.
3. **Execute**: Read the `.prose` program, spawn sub-sessions (`sessions_spawn`), and narrate state changes.
4. **Migrate**: If `prose update`, convert legacy `.prose/state.json` to `.env` and rename `execution/` to `runs/`.
