# Compliance Evidence Tracking

Track evidence against stated controls; do not certify a standard.

1. Identify the named framework, organization scope, control source, owner, and review date.
2. Map each control to evidence, location, collection method, freshness, and responsible owner.
3. Record unavailable evidence, exceptions, compensating controls, and decisions without hiding gaps.
4. Produce a register with status meanings defined by evidence, not optimism.
