# Process Optimization

Improve the limiting step without pushing costs or risks elsewhere.

1. Map the current process and measure delay, rework, queue, quality, and owner friction where evidence exists.
2. State the bottleneck hypothesis and alternatives; distinguish observation from inference.
3. Design the smallest experiment or reversible change that can test it.
4. Measure before/after with guardrails for quality, compliance, workload, and user experience.
5. Keep, revise, or roll back based on evidence.

Do not automate a broken or unsafe process merely because automation is possible.
