# Zoom Developer Platform Skills

This repository contains skills for building with Zoom SDKs, APIs, MCP servers, and integrations across web, mobile, desktop, and server environments.

## Repo Notes

- [general/references/sdk-upgrade-workflow.md](general/references/sdk-upgrade-workflow.md) - reusable changelog + RSS version-by-version SDK upgrade workflow
- Repository-level tooling, plugin manifests, and maintenance docs live at the packaging root; raw-skill installs should treat this `skills/` tree as the portable boundary.

## How to Use

1. **Product-specific task?** → Go to that product's folder (e.g., `meeting-sdk/`)
2. **Cross-product or general task?** → Check [zoom-general](general/SKILL.md) for generic use cases
3. **Each folder has a `SKILL.md`** → Start there for that product's overview

**Marketplace prerequisite:** Many product skills need a Zoom Marketplace app before
their credentials, scopes, webhooks, or SDK keys exist. When a task starts with app
creation, app type selection, manifest validation, scopes, event subscriptions, or
credential retrieval, route first to
[Marketplace app management](rest-api/references/marketplace-apps.md), then return to
the product skill.
For automated selection, read the
[Marketplace template index](rest-api/assets/marketplace-apps/marketplace-manifest-template-index.json).
Use the [manifest update workflow](rest-api/references/marketplace-manifest-update-workflow.md)
for existing General Apps; S2S and Meeting SDK entries are create requests, not General App manifests.
For external REST/MCP connectors and manifest-managed actions or triggers, merge the appropriate
[feature fragment](rest-api/references/marketplace-connect-actions-triggers.md) into a complete
General App manifest. This is distinct from configuring OAuth for Zoom-hosted MCP servers.

## Skill Discovery (Integrated)

This repo uses progressive discovery:
- Agent reads `SKILL.md` frontmatter first (`name`, `description`, optional `triggers`).
- Agent routes by intent using `general/SKILL.md` "Choose Your Path" plus keyword/trigger matching.
- Agent loads full skill content only after route selection.

To improve routing quality in any skill:
- Keep `description` specific and keyword-rich (include "use when...").
- Add practical `triggers` for common user phrasing.
- Avoid overlapping triggers between Meeting SDK, Video SDK, REST API, and MCP intents.

## zoom-general (Hub)

The `zoom-general` folder contains:

- **Cross-product use cases** - Tasks that span multiple Zoom products
- **Generic references** - Authentication, app types, scopes
- **Shared documentation** - SDK maintenance, troubleshooting, marketplace publishing

Use `zoom-general` when:
- You're starting a new Zoom integration and need to choose the right approach
- Your use case involves multiple Zoom products
- You need general platform documentation (auth, scopes, etc.)

- MCP transport note: Zoom's current hosted MCP catalog uses Streamable HTTP (client support required).

### MCP Server Model (Zoom-Hosted)

- Zoom acts as MCP server and exposes Zoom platform tools/data to external AI clients.
- MCP access is OAuth-scoped and governed.
- The current product-scoped MCP servers are Meetings, Chat, Canvas, Tasks, Whiteboard, and
Revenue Accelerator. The unified Zoom MCP Server is a separate all-in-one surface.
- Use `zoom-mcp` as the parent entry point, then chain Marketplace app creation -> user OAuth
token acquisition -> the product-specific MCP child skill. Select the matching app template
  from [Marketplace app templates](rest-api/references/marketplace-app-templates.md).
