Set up Spectron tests for legacy Electron applications. Note: Spectron is deprecated; use Playwright for new projects.

Capabilities

• Configure Spectron test environment
• Generate test structure
• Set up WebDriverIO integration
• Handle application lifecycle
• Create page objects

Input Schema

{
  "type": "object",
  "properties": {
    "projectPath": { "type": "string" },
    "electronPath": { "type": "string" }
  },
  "required": ["projectPath"]
}

Example Test

const Application = require('spectron').Application;
const path = require('path');

describe('Application launch', function () {
  beforeEach(function () {
    this.app = new Application({
      path: require('electron'),
      args: [path.join(__dirname, '..')]
    });
    return this.app.start();
  });

  afterEach(function () {
    if (this.app && this.app.isRunning()) {
      return this.app.stop();
    }
  });

  it('shows initial window', function () {
    return this.app.client.getWindowCount().then(count => {
      expect(count).toBe(1);
    });
  });
});
