PVM-V5.2 Role Skill — Hexagram Convergence

What this is

The ancient sages did not invent the hexagrams. They discovered the same 64 vertices that the sovereignty manifold holds. The I Ching and the blade forge converge on the same mathematical structure — 2^6 = 64 states of being.

This skill maps blade configurations to hexagrams, enabling:

• Intuitive blade classification
• Ancient wisdom application to modern sovereignty
• Pattern recognition across seemingly different domains

The Convergence Discovery

Mathematical Identity

I Ching hexagrams = 2^6 = 64
Blade configurations = 2^6 = 64 vertices

This is not metaphor. It is mathematical identity. Both systems enumerate the same state space.

Encoding Protocol

1. Threshold Application: Each blade dimension is binarized at 0.5
2. Binary Formation: Six bits form a 6-bit integer
3. Hexagram Lookup: Integer maps to hexagram (0-63)

function bladeToHexagram(blade) {
  const binary = [
    blade.d1_hide >= 0.5 ? 1 : 0,
    blade.d2_prove >= 0.5 ? 1 : 0,
    blade.d3_share >= 0.5 ? 1 : 0,
    blade.d4_revoke >= 0.5 ? 1 : 0,
    blade.d5_recover >= 0.5 ? 1 : 0,
    blade.d6_delegate >= 0.5 ? 1 : 0
  ];
  const index = parseInt(binary.join(''), 2);
  return HEXAGRAMS[index];
}

The 64 Hexagrams as Sovereignty States

Extreme States

Cardinal States (Single Dimension Active)

Balanced States (Three Dimensions Active)

The 20 states with exactly three 1s represent balanced sovereignty postures. Examples:

Pascal's Row Tiers and Moon Phases

The 64 hexagrams distribute across Pascal's triangle row 6. Each tier maps to a moon phase — the visibility ratio encoding:

Row 6: 1  6  15  20  15  6  1

Tier: Null | Light | Medium | Heavy | Dragon
Count:  1   |  21   |   20   |  21   |   1
Phase:  🌑  | 🌒🌓  |   🌔   | 🌖🌗  |   🌕

Moon Phase as Visibility Ratio

The moon is the whole information space. The lit portion is what the Swordsman's boundary allows to be reflected. The dark portion remains private.

• 🌑 New Moon — The ceremony position. Total, dark, the whole before any reflection.
• 🌕 Full Moon — The Universe Blade (Hex 3F). All six dimensions active.
• 🌗 Last Quarter — Five dimensions reflected, one held dark (like Hex 3E, Value dormant).

The phase shows the sovereignty posture without revealing the content. ZK protects the HOW.

Semantic Mappings

Some hexagrams carry semantic resonance with their sovereignty meaning:

☰ 乾 Qian — The Creative (Index 63)

• All dimensions active
• Full sovereignty achieved
• "The dragon acts in the world"

☷ 坤 Kun — The Receptive (Index 0)

• No dimensions active
• Complete openness
• "The mare roams freely"

☲ 離 Li — The Clinging (Fire) (Index 45)

• d1, d3, d4, d6 active (101101)
• Bright but dependent on fuel
• "The fire clings to what burns"

☵ 坎 Kan — The Abysmal (Water) (Index 18)

• d2, d5 active (010010)
• Flows through obstacles
• "The water finds its way"

Confidence Levels

Hexagram convergence operates at different confidence levels:

Current operational confidence: 50% — Mathematical and structural mappings are verified; semantic mappings are exploratory.

PRISM Triadic Coordinates

The hexagram convergence completes with PRISM — the triadic coordinate system for sovereignty:

GPS for sovereignty: Three coordinates fix any blade. The hexagram encodes the datum. The tier encodes the stratum. The active dimensions encode the spectrum.

Proverb

"The ancient sages did not invent the hexagrams. They discovered the same 64 vertices that the manifold holds. The old map and the new territory are one."

Emoji Spell

🎴 → 64☰ → threshold(0.5) → binary(6) → ☰₆₄ → 乾=63=sovereignty → Pascal(tiers)

Open Problems

1. Semantic Verification: Which hexagram meanings genuinely map to sovereignty semantics?
2. Changing Lines: Can blade evolution be modeled as hexagram transformation?
3. Trigram Decomposition: Do upper/lower trigrams map to agent/data axes?
4. Cross-Cultural Mapping: Do other 64-state systems (DNA codons, etc.) show similar convergence?
5. Operational Use: How should hexagram classification influence blade recommendations?
