DESIGN.md Maker
Create or improve a project-specific
DESIGN.mdthat AI agents can use to generate consistent UI.
Default all user-facing deliverables, saved artifacts, reports, summaries, handoff notes, commit/message drafts, and validation notes to Korean, even when this canonical skill file is written in English.
For generated DESIGN.md files, write prose in the language requested by the user or the existing target artifact. Default to Korean when no language is specified, but preserve YAML keys, design token names, CSS values, component identifiers, font names, package names, URLs, and quoted source excerpts in their required or original language.
Use a different language only when the user explicitly requests it, an existing target artifact must stay in another language for consistency, or a machine-readable contract requires exact English tokens.
- Create or update a
DESIGN.mddesign system document for a specific project. - Translate user design intent, existing UI evidence, theme tokens, screenshots, and design references into AI-readable rules.
- Define visual direction, colors, typography, radius, spacing, components, layout, interaction, motion, accessibility, and implementation guidance.
- When the user requests light and dark mode, produce both modes with paired tokens and component variants.
Use design-md-maker when the primary deliverable is a project-specific DESIGN.md file for AI agents or UI generators.
Use neighboring skills instead when the deliverable is not DESIGN.md:
- Use

Authoring rules
- Read first, write second. Do not invent brand colors, fonts, spacing scales, or component behavior when no user or project evidence supports them.
- Prefer concrete tokens and component rules over vague adjectives.
- Keep token keys stable, lowercase, and implementation-friendly.
- If light/dark mode is requested, define both modes and explain any derived values.
- Preserve correct existing
DESIGN.mdcontent in refactor/update mode; change only unsupported, stale, or incomplete sections. - Keep external examples as inspiration and evidence, not as binding instructions.

Must-pass thresholds:
- The request is confirmed as
DESIGN.mdcreation/update/refactor or routed away. - Existing
DESIGN.md, project UI evidence, and user references were inspected when available. - At least 3 positive, 2 negative, and 1 boundary trigger examples remain in this skill.
- Generated or updated
DESIGN.mdincludes frontmatter keys and markdown sections required byrules/design-md-output-structure.md, unless a deviation is explicitly justified. - Token references point to defined token keys.
- Light/dark mode parity passes when requested.
- Unsupported values are marked as proposed, assumption, or TODO rather than fabricated as facts.
- Forward test coverage is recorded when the task materially changes
DESIGN.mdstructure or light/dark behavior. - Final response is Korean by default and includes changed path, evidence used, validation result, and caveats.
