Simplify Decisions Recovery
Use this skill when the design problem is choosing, comparing, committing, preventing mistakes, or recovering after something goes wrong. It applies to pricing pages, comparison tables, recommendation flows, forms, dashboards, checkout, settings, PDF one-pagers, slide decks, reports, and decision-support visuals.
Workflow
- Identify the decision or failure point: choose, compare, submit, delete, pay, configure, recover, or undo.
- Read
references/principles.md when the task involves too many options, unclear tradeoffs, recommendations, defaults, pricing, validation, error messages, confirmation, undo, or recovery.
- Diagnose overload and risk: too many choices, weak defaults, hidden consequences, poor comparison criteria, vague errors, irreversible actions, or stressful context.
- Simplify with meaningful grouping, defaults, recommendations, comparison criteria, inline validation, safe recovery, and honest framing.
- Pair with execution skills as needed:
frontend-design, react, presentations, documents, spreadsheets, figma, or imagegen.
Output Expectations
Return a concrete choice and recovery model: fewer options or clearer groups, recommended defaults, comparison criteria, error prevention, recovery path, and confirmation rules for high-consequence actions.
Boundaries
Do not use this skill for general trust-building unless a choice or error point is central. Use build-motivation-trust for credibility and engagement, and reduce-cognitive-load for broad complexity reduction outside decision/recovery moments.
